RoTS Yoda is obviously a lot more powerful than AoTC Yoda.

ROTS Yoda isn't exactly more powerful. Not by a large margin, anyway. He simply let go of his Jedi restraint and fought Sidious with everything he had. Very similar to what Mace did. It's why he's a different kettle of fish to AOTC Yoda.

ahhh ok, well yeh hes on a decline from when he was 700, but he then gets a massive boost when he learns from the force priestesses, but i think TPM Yoda would be ever so slightly above AOTC Yoda

true true but he still experienced massive growth from the shaman of the whills in TCW

I’ve seen people float out the idea that Yoda’s encounter with the Force Priestesses‘ was a potential catalyst for growth. Is there any evidence to actually back this up or is it mainly conjecture?

I see no reason for him to have grown much. Besides maybe becoming more connected to the light side through his duel with his darker self.

Yoda is confirmed via G-Canon to be equal in power to Dooku who is confirmed an 8.

AotC Yoda wins. Nothing supports his growth instead him getting weaker.

Yea, Dooku being stated to be an 8 might work in favor of Yoda megagrowth, but that was only stated once in an email, outside of any official canonical sources. In emails, Gillard has also stated that sub-Jinn Suit Vader is a tier 9, on par with Yoda and RotS Sidious (
) and that Jinn beats Fisto (
). Both of which are so far from the truth that it isn’t even remotely amusing. So yea, Dooku being a tier 8 because of that statement is hardly conclusive, and thus, hardly proof of any significant growth from Yoda between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith.

he was equal to dooku in the force, but not in sabers, he may well have still been a 9 in sabers in AOTC, seeing as the tiers are only combat ability

@Blade_of_Dorin As I recall, Gillard stated that Vader being a tier 9 was a personal opinion, not what he was officially ranked as, which coincides with the fact that he never ranked OT Jedi/Sith because he was never asked to. Maul and Dooku he was treating as an authoritative ranking. Given that Lucas has confirmed that only Yoda, MFV and Mace can rival the likes of Sidious and Dooku's notable inferiority to ROTS Sidious is reiterated time and time again, I'm not sure what you're trying to prove by saying this.
Unless there's a Lucas/Gillard quote that contradicts the Dooku placement (like there is for the suited Vader one, whereby Lucas stated he was a lot less powerful than KFV/MFV and was "maybe" 20% less than Sidious - indicating a significant decline in power regardless of the fact that he was still immensely powerful - as compared to a tier 9 like KFV/MFV), Gillard's placement - which I believe he was phrasing as their official placement, not where he believed they fell on the tiers - holds.

Why is this even a discussion? AotC Yoda is Dooku level, RotS Yoda is Anakin level. Anakin is far above Dooku.
