Logray: The Medicine Man
The once great medicine man and Shaman of Bright Tree Village, the powerful Logray was banished for his use of dark rituals and living sacrifices.
POWER
The Leaf Queen thinks Logray can save them from planetary winter caused by an artifact known as the Season Scepter, which transformed mortal travelers into gods of the seasons.
The Leaf Queen thinks Logray can save them from planetary winter caused by an artifact known as the Season Scepter, which transformed mortal travelers into gods of the seasons.
“Logray, come quickly! You must save us from these terrible snows! Please hurry to the Sunking’s palace, the future of Endor is in your hands!”
-The Leaf Queen (Ewoks Season 2: The Season Scepter)
Logray’s power awe his people, despite Shamans being an old and common facet of Ewok culture.
Logray has great knowledge of magic and ritual.
Star Wars Fact File 17, EWO2"Respected for his great wisdom and his extensive knowledge of magic and ritual, Logray was highly suspicious of outsiders. As such, he was particularly opposed to the imperial presence on Endor."
Logray is a powerful magician.
Star Wars Databank: Logray"Although Logray had a hut in Bright Tree Village, he also lived in a small hovel removed from the other Ewoks. In times of great need, the Ewoks would call upon Logray. He was a powerful magician, able to summon the powers of Brother Sky, Father Tree, the Spell of Seven Oaths, and the magic of the Sunstar."
Logray is an authority on magic spells and potions.
Logray’s power is rivalled by that of Morag’s, implying that his power equals or is slightly above Morag’s own.
Logray’s power is matched with Morag’s.
Logray is the good opposite to the Tulgah Witch Morag.
Ewoks associate producer and story editor Paul Dini in 1988, Starlog Magazine Yearbook 3"To our way of thinking, it just seemed natural that if you had Morag as an evil witch, Logray might be her good opposite. And it seemed interesting that they would have both fought over a magic stone that had good and bad properties in it and got split. And because it looked like the Yin and Yang symbol, it drove the point home."
ALTER ENVIRONMENT
With the assistance of a yet untrained Teebo, Logray summons strong winds as a side effect to the spell he is attempting.
- Spoiler:
Logray creates a gusher of water cold enough to turn Lava to Stone in less than 15 seconds, this took a fairly lengthy chant from Logray, however he did not at this time possess the Sunstar.
- Spoiler:
ARTIFACT CREATION
At some point in the past, Logray created a wand that could perform various complicated tasks (without the conscious use of the force) including restoring broken objects to their previous states and position (possible time manipulation).
- Spoiler:
Logray presumably either taught Teebo to make an object that consumed turns the consumer into a Mushroom, or made it himself. (Teebo always, when using his magic, emphasizes that Logray taught him this or gave him that, and multiple sources indicate or state that he is unsuitable for magic).
- Spoiler:
Logray presumably either taught or gave Teebo a wand that turns a being into a rock after physical contact.
- Spoiler:
BEAST FRIENDSHIP
Logray with the assistance of the untrained Teebo, summons and calls upon the aid of various woodland creatures enmasse, this seems to be species specific. He also coordinates their actions to an incredible degree.
- Spoiler:
DURABILITY
Logray survives a considerable amount of rocks falling on him seemingly unscathed.
- Spoiler:
(He is in a tree because he converted the late Morag’s spirit into a tree that he made.)
Logray survives multiple tall pillars collapsing on top of him.
- Spoiler:
DISPELLING
Logray dispels Zarrak’s fire spell.
- Spoiler:
FORCE CONSTRUCTS
Logray creates a construct to restrain Paploo.
- Spoiler:
FORCE STASIS
Logray uses a spell that freezes the target, even leaving them suspended in the air.
- Spoiler:
Logray has to manually undo the force stasis with another incantation.

Logray: The Medicine Man (Continued)
LIFE CREATION
Logray turns the spirit of the deceased Morag into a fully grown tree using the Sunstar.
- Spoiler:
As black nights gives into golden morn... as ice disappears when spring's reborn. Let joy rise up from grief and woe and from evil's death let new life grow.-Ewoks Episode 9:Sunstar Versus Shadowstone]
POTION MAKING
Logray creates a soap that makes anything it touches invisible
- Spoiler:
Logray creates a dust that alters one’s physical appearance
- Spoiler:
Logray brews a potion that makes an ewok buoyant in air
- Spoiler:
After Wicket’s father Deej cuts himself on a fungus that rapidly ages him to death overnight, Logray brews and enchants, in a matter of seconds, a potion that completely reverses the effect, as seen here.
Logray gives Wicket enchanted seeds that turn into sentient vines after being exposed to water.
- Spoiler:
Logray presumably taught Teebo how to make or gave Teebo a potion that shrinks a being upon contact.
- Spoiler:
TELEKINESIS
Logray quickly bends a tree to catch falling ewoks
- Spoiler:
Logray lifts a broom and holds it suspended in the air.
- Spoiler:
He calls the broom back down, but sending it to Teebo rather than taking it back into his own hands.
- Spoiler:
TELEPORTATION
With the use of his magic dust, Logray can teleport objects to him.
- Spoiler:
Using his magic dust, Logray walks through walls.
- Spoiler:
TIME REVERSAL
With the use of his staff, Logray temporarily reverses the time of a large stone pillar.
- Spoiler:
TRANSMUTATION
Using his staff of power, Logray makes Teebo and Wicket much smaller.
- Spoiler:
Logray turns snow into ice.

Zarrak: The First Apprentice
The first apprentice of Master Logray, and likely his most powerful. Zarrak was learning under the great Ewok shaman until his lust for power turned him to the darkside, leading to his banishment.
POWER
Zarrak and the Prophecy Pool imply there is no wizard on Endor powerful enough to stop Zarrak (Teebo doesn’t count as he cheapshotted him, and Teebo is decidedly less powerful than Logray).
- Spoiler:
Zarrak, using his talisman, defeats Logray using his staff in direct combat.
- Spoiler:
Zarrak can touch Logray’s staff without ill effect.
- Spoiler:
This is impressive as Logray’s staff burns those who are not permitted to touch his staff.
INDUCED SLEEP
Zarrak forces sleep upon Kneesa.
- Spoiler:
“Hey, she’s asleep.” -Wicket (Ewoks Season 2: The First Apprentice)
She won’t wake up until Logray manually undoes the spell, the implication being that it is otherwise permanent.
“Why, she seems to be under a sleeping spell. It’s easy to cure.” -Logray (Ewoks Season 2: The First Apprentice)
PYROMANCY
Zarrak is very adept at pyromancy. Zarrak uses Pyrokinesis
- Spoiler:
And again against Logray
- Spoiler:
Zarrak empowers the fire he threw at Logray further.
- Spoiler:
TELEKINESIS
Zarrak lifts a large boulder and throws it.
- Spoiler:
TRANSFORMATION
Zarrak forms hands out of the earth
- Spoiler:
Zarrak transforms a turtle-duck creature into a monster many times the size, changing the features so it wasn’t just a size change.
- Spoiler:
Zarrak then turns the monster back into the turtle-duck creature.
- Spoiler:
Zarrak transforms Teebo’s vine monster things back into harmless vines.

Morag: The Tulgah Witch
Formerly a witch who immigrated to Endor, now the Daughter of the Nightspirit, who is in turn the daughter of Cold Danda Sine and Titolny.
POWER
Morag’s power rivals that of Logray, implying that her power equals or is at least comparable to Logray’s own.
Morag’s power is a potent match for Logray’s
Morag is the evil opposite to the Shaman Logray.
Ewoks associate producer and story editor Paul Dini in 1988, Starlog Magazine Yearbook 3 wrote:"To our way of thinking, it just seemed natural that if you had Morag as an evil witch, Logray might be her good opposite. And it seemed interesting that they would have both fought over a magic stone that had good and bad properties in it and got split. And because it looked like the Yin and Yang symbol, it drove the point home."
ALTER ENVIRONMENT
Morag causes a Thunderstorm with winds strong enough to throw around Ewoks and directs it from across the planet with a ritual.
- Spoiler:
Morag’s anger immediately causes a thunderstorm.
- Spoiler:
Morag causes a lightning strike in clear skies (she seems to be using the shadowstone here, as it glows during use)
- Spoiler:
ASTRAL PROJECTION
Morag projects her visage to The Ewok village from Mt. Thunderstorm
- Spoiler:
Morag shows Chief Chirpa the image of Logray
- Spoiler:
ILLUSIONS
Morag creates powerful illusions, speaking in a different voice and modifying the appearance of herself and the cave she is in.
- Spoiler:
MENTAL DOMINATION
Morag has control over the mantigrue
Logray (Ewoks Episode 2: The Haunted Village) wrote:“The flying slave of our old enemy, Morag, the Tulag witch.”
This is corroborated by this scene here: https://youtu.be/JMAYp0O2rso?t=964
After activating the Shadowstone and casting a verbal spell, Morag mentally dominates Irina, Queen of the fire folk.
- Spoiler:
Morag’s mental domination spreads from her initial victim when Queen Irina makes physical contact with others of her species.
- Spoiler:
PYROKINESIS
Morag uses Pyrokinesis
- Spoiler:
FORCE DISARM
Morag uses Magic to disarm Logray.
- Spoiler:
FORCE DESTRUCTION
Morag creates a seemingly sentient force construct that acts like force destruction when it comes into contact with its target, but not other matter or surfaces.
- Spoiler:
FORCE FLIGHT
Morag levitates rather than walking.
- Spoiler:
FORCE STASIS
Morag puts the vast majority of Bright Tree Village into force stasis
- Spoiler:
MATTER MANIPULATION
Morag turns water into a glue like substance from across planet.
- Spoiler:
Morag causes vines to rapidly grow out of the wood from Logray’s staff
- Spoiler:
PLANT CONTROL
Morag causes a plant to suck up the water from the surrounding forest and grow to many times its size.
- Spoiler:
She then transforms the grown plant into a monster.
- Spoiler:
TELEKINESIS
Morag uses telekinesis
- Spoiler:
Morag casually causes a large earthquake (this is done without the use of the Shadowstone, as whenever it is used in the show otherwise, it produces a noticeable glow).
- Spoiler:
After Morag obtains the power of the Sunstar-Shadowstone her power fluctuations cause the Earthquakes intensity to increase to the point of destroying the mountain she and the Ewoks are in.
- Spoiler:
Logray (Ewoks Episode 9: Sunstar vs. Shadowstone wrote:“Morag, you’ll destroy the whole mountain!”
Logray (Ewoks Episode 9: Sunstar vs. Shadowstone wrote:“Morag has activated the volcano!”
After Morag has turned into a lava monster, she uses telekinesis to destroy the side of a mountain.
- Spoiler:
INVULNERABILITY
Morag makes the Kreegon beast invulnerable to damage via thrown spears and lava, while at base it could be killed by an Ewok tribe, and presumably one Ewok working alone.
- Spoiler:
TRANSFORMATION
After obtaining the power of the Sunstar-Shadowstone, Morag is submerged in lava, where she then becomes a lava monster.
- Spoiler:
In this form Logray radiates enough heat to set trees alight.
- Spoiler:

THE SUNSTAR: THE MOST POWERFUL ARTIFACT IN THE UNIVERSE
The Sunstar-Shadowstone is an artifact of immense power, a force so powerful that in the hands of anyone it could bring an end to all that is good.
Despite this, the Sunstar-Shadowstone can and has been used for good.
GENERAL ACCOLADES OF ITS POWER
Logray considers the Sunstar to have the most powerful magic in the universe.
“Careful Wicket! You know the Sunstar can unleash the most powerful magic in the universe. For good and evil.”-Logray (Ewoks Season 2: Night of the Stranger)
Charal considers the Sunstar to be all potent.
- Spoiler:
- Ewoks: Shadows of Endor
Dr. Raygar thinks the entire galaxy will be able to feel the Sunstar’s power under his usauge.
“Do not worry admiral, soon the entire galaxy will feel the power of the Sunstar.” -Dr. Raygar (Ewoks Season 2: Battle for the Sunstar)
Dr. Raygar analyzes the Sunstar’s power, and finds to be virtually limitless. He also believes that the Sunstar’s power will allow him to overthrow the Emperor.
“Incredible, the gem’s powers are virtually without limit. In fact, why should I hand it over to the Emperor when I can use it to become Emperor myself.” -Dr. Raygar (Ewoks Season 2: Battle for the Sunstar)
The Duchess of Sleet thinks the Sunstar can destroy a planet
“What shall I do with the Sunstar, make a necklace? Destroy a planet? Ahh, the possibilities.” -Duchess of Sleet (Ewoks Season 2-The Season Scepter)
Logray wonders if the Sunstar has the power to repel the ‘coming darkness’ (The Empire in Return of the Jedi) Charal compares the power of the Sunstar to said darkness and finds it to be barely sufficient.
- Spoiler:
The Sunstar has the power to turn the non-force sensitive Dr. Raygar into the master of the universe.
-Star Wars Insider 27
In the hands of a non-force sensitive, the Sunstar can turn the surface of a planet into mud.
-Star Wars Insider 27
FEATS
The Sunstar controls the Endor gate, the Shadowstone half opens the gate, the Sunstar half closes the gate. This is done by spinning the artifact one way or another, moving the moons of Endor into alignment.
- Spoiler:
“The Dark Side of the Sunstar will open a portal to my world, and let the rest of my kind through.” -Stranger (Ewoks Season 2: Night of the Stranger)
“The moons, they’re moving together.” -Logray (Ewoks Season 2: Night of the Stranger)
“Yes, only the Sunstar, has the power to do this.” -The Stranger (Ewoks Season 2: Night of the Stranger)
“The Sunstar! You must spin it the other way to reverse the spell!” -Logray (Ewoks Season 2: Night of the Stranger)
“Your powers are fading!” -Logray (Ewoks Season 2: Night of the Stranger)
“No! This is how it happened so many ages ago!” -The Stranger (Ewoks Season 2: Night of the Stranger)
The Sunstar turns various objects into mud, resulting in a huge quantity of mud.
- Spoiler:
There is enough mud to cover elephant creatures who are roughly 3 times as tall as Ewoks up to their waists.

It’s clarified that the whole moon is covered in mud, both due to the lack of mud flow in the episode, and due to this.
The Sunstar hardens all the mud near instantaneously.
- Spoiler:
Dr. Raygar creates, in his opinion, the mightiest weapon the universe has ever seen in roughly 12 seconds using the Sunstar.
- Spoiler:
“I’ll create the mightiest weapon the universe has ever seen.” -Dr. Raygar (Ewoks Season 2: Battle for the Sunstar)
The Sunstar (in the hands of a non-sensitive) turns a log into a flying animated plane thing.
- Spoiler:
The Sunstar turns Logray to dust which then re-coalesses back into Logray when the dust is sent to the desired location, Logray is also contained by its magic physically as well as magically for the remainder of the Episode until the Sunstar is in friendly possession.
- Spoiler:
The Sunstar turns a tree into a dragon.
- Spoiler:
SCALING
The Sunstar is considered more powerful than the season scepter, the reason why this is the case is as folows: Logray considers the Sunstar to have the most powerful magic in the universe.
“Careful Wicket! You know the Sunstar can unleash the most powerful magic in the universe. For good and evil.” -Logray (Ewoks Season 2: Night of the Stranger)
Logray of course is very knowledgeable about the season scepter, and had good rapport with the gods (generally they came to him for advice).
Watch this episode of Ewoks to understand their relationship. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKAPoTOw5qY
This is the power of the season Scepter.
It immediately turns Summer to Winter on Endor when used. As a side effect to this it creates gale force winds that uproot trees, and a thunderstorm.
- Spoiler:
“We’ve done it, we’ve frozen Endor! So brilliant, stealing the season Scepter, my Snow King.” -Duchess of Sleet (Ewoks Season 2: The Season Scepter)
The Season Scepter causes another thunderstorm to form and for the snowing to intensify across Endor.
- Spoiler:
The Season Scepter freezes an ocean in an instant.
- Spoiler:
The Season Scepter returns Endor to summer.

CHARAL: WITCH-QUEEN OF ENDOR
Obviously one of the most powerful Nightsisters to ever live, Charal was a being of power so immense that even Jedi scholars could not comprehend her abilities.
POWERCharal has abilities that Jedi scholars don't understand.
Star Wars Databank: Charal
She possessed strange arcane powers that Jedi scholars could not fully explain, and she spent many decades avoiding Jedi and fellow Nightsisters.

She alone could wield the power to raise the army of the dead. When General Grievous impaled Daka with his lightsaber, her sway over the Nightsister zombies abruptly ended.-The Online Star Wars Encyclopedia, Mother Talzin, Relationship with Old Daka wrote:Though Talzin lead the Nightsisters, she was not the wisest of the coven. In times of great need, Talzin turned to Old Daka, the eldest of the Nightsisters and the keeper of the most arcane, dangerous knowledge of the clan.
This is impressive because during the Clone Wars, there were multiple Nightsisters more powerful than Talzin, and yet only the strongest, Daka, had the knowledge Charal also possessed.-StarWars.com, Nightsister History Gallery wrote:But for all her power, Talzin was not the mightiest of the witches--even older Nightsisters dwelled deep within the fortress on Dathomir. During the Clone Wars, the eldest and most powerful witch was Old Daka.
This is even further exemplified by the fact that Charal could resurrect the dead without song or ritual. Using sorcery without song or ritual is something only Gethezerion knew how to do, who was the most powerful of the Nightsisters, so this is a huge deal.
-The Essential Guide to Characters: Gethezerion wrote:The majority of them believed they had to chant, sing, or perform rituals and spells to use their magic. Only Gethezerion realized they could use their force talents without the rituals; she used her ‘powerful’ solo magic to intimidate and force her will on others.- The Dark Side Sourcebook wrote:The most powerful of the Nightsisters was an aged crone named Gethzerion.-StarWars.com, Nightsisters History Gallery wrote:The world of Dathomir, a planet steeped in dark energies, is home to the Nightsisters. It is here that they were most powerful, and they rarely ventured off-world during the age of the Republic.
Charal’s presence causes spirit ichor to erupt from the ground.
Charal’s defensive contention and offensive domination of the Sunstar is, perhaps, the craziest feat of power from a mortal in Star Wars.
This is the fight between Charal and the Sunstar.
- Spoiler:
Let’s go over exactly why this is impressive.
- Spoiler:
- Charal senses that the Sunstar is capable of repelling the coming Darkness, saying that it has ‘just’ enough power. What we actually see her sensing on panel are Darth Vader, some stormtroopers, and the Griagh, suggesting she was actually sensing the power from these beings, rather than the future (she didn’t see the Deathstar for instance). So, more likely than not, the Sunstar is sensed to be more powerful than the life-force of the Stormtroopers that would come to Endor, than the life-force than the Griagh, and more powerful than Darth Vader’s actual power.
This is impressive because in terms of sensed power, Vader felt as powerful as the likes of Yoda and Anakin Skywalker, and more powerful than Kar Vastor (*Keep in mind, this is more than likely not usable power for Vader, and is simply how he is perceived in the force.).- Coruscant Nights I: Jedi Twilight wrote:
The Force was powerful in Vader; even the dim wattage of Nick's connection could feel that. It was far more powerful than it had been in Kar Vastor. It had pulsed from Vastor in waves of fury, blasted like an open furnace. In Vader, it was-contained. Pent.
Waiting.
Kar Vastor, of course, in terms of raw power, was above Mace Windu and with the likes of Anakin Skywalker and Yoda in terms of raw power.-Shatterpoint wrote:Mace stood motionless except for the heaving of his chest. He knew already he could not match Vastor for raw power. With each breath, he stripped away another layer of restraint and inhibition. Another layer of serenity. He had to move his inner peace out of the way to let in the joy.-Shatterpoint wrote:I could not answer; Vastor has power on the scale of Master Yoda, or young Anakin Skywalker. And I had no desire to debate with Depa on Jedi tradition, and the necessary distinction between dark and light.- Coruscant Nights I: Jedi Twilight wrote:
Abruptly he experienced a sudden tingle that vibrated the lines of the Force—a plangent throb telling him that a new player was approaching the blasted landscape of the Factory District. Someone extremely strong in the Force—stronger than he’d ever encountered before. It could mean only one thing:
Darth Vader was coming.- The Last Jedi wrote:
No, Jax didn’t know what Darth Vader was capable of. Aboard the dying Far Ranger he thought he had seen him fail to manipulate Thi Xon Yimmon’s mind and have to settle, instead, for manipulating gravity. Still …
“I’ve never known a Force-user as powerful as Vader,” he admitted. “Which only makes it more critical that we rescue Yimmon.”
--
Not only was Darth Vader the most powerful Force-user Tesla had ever known, he had always thought of him as a towering genius.
The Sunstar is also very powerful featwise, telekinetically moving moons and turning trees into dragons to name a couple.
Despite the raw power possessed by the Sunstar, an unsuspecting Charal tanks a blast from the Sunstar directly.
Charal actually makes headway against the Sunstar in combat, overpowering its shielding.
Charal prepared for a blast from the Sunstar, resists it capably using Telekinesis.
Charal, again, bypasses the shielding of the Sunstar, disarming Logray.
After the battle, the Sunstar’s power is described as depleted, gone or weak. It’s now only capable of blowing up an elephant sized creature with its remaining power, a far cry from telekinetically moving moons.
For reference, this is the size of the creature (indeed elephant sized).
Charal’s passive telekinetic barrier can no sell attacks from an object as powerful as the ROTS Titans. Her offensive spirit ichor attacks can no sell the barrier of an object as powerful as the ROTS Titans, and even a four exchange bought with Charal will make such a powerful object nearly inert. Her instantaneous force use is roughly equivalent to 25% of the full power of a ROTS Titan.

Charal capably resists the power of the Sunstar.
Logray gets absolutely screwed by a casual use of the Sunstar.
