Hello again! Once more, I will be posting a respect thread for another, more or less, underrated character: Volfe Karkko, the Anzati Dark Jedi. I think his already existing Respect Thread is somewhat lacking on some important information regarding Volfe, and so I thought about making one for him.

Karkko as a Jedi

Volfe Karkko was a powerful Jedi who rose to great prominence in the Jedi Order before sucumbing to the Dark Side.

Karkko studied rare Sith Holocronsduring his time as a Jedi. One of which, would later be used by Count Dooku.

Volfe Karkko, a rare Anzat Jedi known for his prolonged study of one of the Jedi Temple's rare Sith holocrons, was fond of reminding his fellow Knights that the Anzati "remember the very first Sith." Beyond the anecdotal, though, there is no solid evidence to support this theory.

Volfe Karkko was a great Jedi according to T'ra Saa (who lived for hundreds of years and was arguably the oldest Jedi active in the Clone Wars)

Dark Jedi

Volfe started to fall to the Dark Side by feeding on others life energies, and eventually, feeding on his fellow Jedi as well, growing far stronger than he had been before.

Volfe Karkko, when he turned to the Dark Side, became a dangerous predator.

During this time as well, Karkko devolped a way to counter the Jedi techniques that countered the Anzati Telepathic skills.

Karkko was a Sith Magician, possibly learning these powers from the Sith Holocrons he researched during his time as a Jedi.

Before the outbreak of open war, T'ra Saa served as the Jedi defender of the sector that held Kiffex and Kiffu (after her old friend Tholme abandoned the post to train young Quinlan Vos) and was later instrumental in the defeat of the Anzati Sith magician Volfe Karkko.

Karkko was persued by the Jedi Council, who then went to battle the Dark Jedi on the world of Kiffex. There, the battle took place and the battle was "great" with Karkko even taking down some of the Jedi Council members. T'ra mentions that Karkko was "strong" but he eventually fell to the might of the Jedi Council.

When he was imprisoned in a stasis field, his spirit called Anzati from across the galaxy to Kiffex, and when those Anzati got there, his will and presence was enough to mutate them biologically, turning them into feral beings who could not be detected by the Jedi unless they were in a large group. Volfe also had complete control over these Anzati.

A single Anzati is scary enough, but imagine packs of them feeding upon a penal colony. In the four-part "Darkness" story arc of the Star Wars ongoing series, issues #32-34 from Dark Horse, gangs of feral Anzati suddenly attack a Guardian outpost on the planet Kiffex. They are possessed by the mind of Volfe Karkko, a centuries-old dark Jedi Anzati.

However, the dark side energy that surrounded him twisted the local population of Anzati, turning them into feral beings who survived simply to do his bidding.

Over the centuries, his spirit had drawn other Anzati to Kiffex, and during this time his will had corrupted them, causing them to degenerate into an almost feral subspecies. This process meant that it was easier to control them - they were his slaves.

The vampiric, primal Anzati, under the leadership of Volfe Karkko, have overrun the prison planet of Kiffex. All lives on the planet are threatened as Karkko sends his followers out to collect beings to feed his hunger.

Modern Times

When released by Aayla Secura, Volfe not only gained complete control over his Anzati legions, but the Jedi Padawan quickly fell to his spell and his "sinister power." Aayla was totally bewitched by Karkko's power.

It was necessary the full might of the three Jedi on Kiffex (Master Tholme, Zao and T'ra Saa) joining their minds with Quinlan Vos, and even then, Quinlan "only just managed to defeat" Karkko.

Mace Windu organizes a Jedi Strike Team consisting of the High Council Members Adi Gallia, Plo Koon and himself to defeat both Aayla and Volfe Karkko. He also mentions on how Volfe must not be allowed to escape.

It was the Force itself who brought Karkko's existence to an end.

Force Powers

Almost immediately after Karkko is freed by Aayla Secura, he gains complete telepathic control over his Anzati.

Karkko enhanced the Anzati Telepathic skills to a degree where Jedi couldn't counter them.

Karkko tricks Aayla Secura into releasing him, with him eventually controling her (though it must be noted that Aayla is in one of her, if not the most, vulnerable moments and had no prior knowlegde of Karkko's skills and was willing to let him control her). During Aayla's duel with Quinlan Vos, Karkko calls her back to his stronghold.

Volfe duels against at least six Jedi Council members, not only is it said to be a "great" battle, but he also takes down some of the Jedi Council members.
