Being a council member doesn't mean anything. Anakin is a Jedi Knight and would murderstomp Luminara. Ahsoka was a Padawan and yet she has better feats than Luminara.

Also, Kanan said that prior to his growth.

I would not say that Ahsoka is better than Luminara, my opinion they are around equal. In the Jedi council accepted only the most powerful, so still it means something. Anakin doesn’t count, because he is supposedly "chosen one". Kenan is not. And in 3 years he hasn’t grown so much.

As HFU said, being a Jedi Council member is meaningless here. Kanan is also referred to in several sources (including StarWars.com) as being a master by the time of his death. Kanan also said that around the same time he was getting stomped by the GI. His prime is far beyond that point.

Being a council member doesn't mean being among the most powerful Jedi. Jocasta Nu was a council member. 

Ignoring standing within the Jedi Order, and instead looking purely at feats, Kanan should take this with some difficulty.

Although technically, neither was Luminara, so it doesn't really hold any bearing on this match up. Luminara was more like Quinlan Vos. A skilled Jedi Master that the council called on for specific duties. Though judging by the Clone Wars episodes she's in, those duties are more intelligence-based and strategy-based, not combat-oriented. 

I still firmly stand by my belief that Kanan takes this. Luminara has nothing to her name other than losing to some zombie bugs and losing to Asajj Ventress in a very short duel.

You haven't even defined Luminara at her "prime." 

Simply stating she is a master doesn't mean much, especially when you consider that you can be a master on Yoda's level, or Shaak Ti's level. Both are Jedi Masters, yet the gap between them is exponential. And like others have mentioned, she's a master, and yet Anakin (just a mere Jedi Knight) would utterly destroy her.

And? Being a master means, frankly, nothing. Ima Gun-Di was a master, so was Master Halsey, and so was Jaro Tapal. At least two of those were masters for roughly as long - if not quite a bit longer - than Obi-Wan, as was Luminara. If your argument is that being a master for longer equates to greater skill, then Luminara > Obi-Wan or Anakin.

Wasn't Luminara captured by a few Geonosians? I'd say being disarmed (more dropping his lightsaber than Ruhk actually relieving him of it) by a lucky hit from a highly trained assassin > being captured by fodder that 14 year old Ahsoka Tano could wreck.

You've disproved your own point. You're either claiming Lumina > Anakin in power, or that the Jedi Council aren't chosen based solely upon power. It's redundant anyway, since she wasn't a Council member.

An earlier version of Ventress. Season 3 Ventress was much better than season 1. Ventress and Luminara were also fighting on a narrow walkway, which limited Ventress (who's an acrobatic, dual-wielding fighter), and even then she landed more hits on Luminara than vice versa and then briefly took on Luminara and Ahsoka at the same time.

That's what you're doing by using the two as a form of comparison and saying they performed more or less equally well against Ventress.

You've still yet to prove this. Ventress is not a good baseline for this since that was a much earlier Ventress who was stomped by season 1 Obi-Wan (who was a few months post-AOTC at best).

I also didn't intend to mention this, but Filoni also directly compares the GI and Ventress (noting that the GI is less powerful, though). Considering that Kanan defeated him and the huge gap between S1 Kanan and Kanan at the time of his death, it's not illogical to think he's comparable or superior to canon Ventress in his prime, at least as of her appearances in the early seasons.

I said she is a DE FACTO council member, like Qui-Gon, Pong Krell etc. I'm writing this for the third time why. Because in episode 3, the Council wanted to take her, and Palpatine insisted on Anakin. They wanted to take her even earlier, but they did not take her only because of her insolence.

Kenan defeated Grand Inquisitor only with the help of Ezra. In season 2, he could not even defeat the ordinary inquisitor. And honestly, I did not see much difference between him in the 2nd and 4th seasons.
