I agree I was just questioning why you cited a Lightsaber duel in a Force based thread. I'll leave it to Bart to answer why Rey is the more powerful of the two.

Because nothing suggests the thread is exclusively referencing force power.

I would presume the tier list is ranking their Force Power given that it's asking us to rank Force Wielders, not make a Lightsaber duelling tier.

The OP has already stated that the tiers are based around overall combative ability, not just Force power.

Well, the ending clearly established her as superior imo.

I’d still maintain that Rey and Kylo are basically equals, as they were in TLJ. They certainly shouldn’t be an entire tier apart, IMO.

@Bart How so?

@King Joker I view them as equals in force power, but Kylo wins due to greater skill, like how was portrayed in TROS/TLJ.

Mace should be mid or high tier 9 considering his performances against both Talzin and Sidious, and I'd maybe put Kanan in the mid tier bracket instead of low tier bracket, but apart from that nice list.

Still don't get why so many people leave most tiers empty just so that Yoda falls at 9, Obi-Wan at 8 and Qui-Gon at 7 like Gillard said. How do we know there are exactly six tiers below Jinn? Are we adapting our hypothesis to fit the data or are we adapting the data to fit our hypothesis? 

Gillard was only really working with three levels in the PT duels and they no longer apply to canon. He also started from the top down, which is faulty in itself, useful as it might have been given that he only had to work with very powerful characters. It's probably better to define power levels around Tier 1, on the basis of whether a character's showings and scaling portray him as taking a majority vs absolutely everybody else in that tier, in which case a promotion would be adequate.

This list is irrelevant as the movie that has come of recent clearly established sheev as beyond the ones and thus all other characters are futile
