Through what I would assume is some form of Sith Sorcery, Vader has trapped the spirit/essence of the Grand Inquisitor inside a High Republic-era Jedi Outpost, to act as a sort of guardian. When a Jedi enters the Outpost and the GI-shade 'activates', Vader is immediately able to sense it. What's more, the indication is that only Vader can release the GI from this purgatorial prison:

Vader blocks Palpatine's lightning with his lightsaber for a time, but a lot of it gets through. Despite this, judging from the art, Vader is able to advance at least 4 steps up the stairway to Palpatine. After he's sufficiently fried, Mas Amedda has a pair of red guards attack Vader, and Palpatine disarms him of his lightsaber so he can't fight back

Yeah, I saw that. It looks like Palpatine's lightning is literally crawling through/bypassing Vader's lightsaber defenses, which is an absurd feat in and of itself(shows you how powerful Palpatine has become by this era, if lightsabers have essentially become worthless against his lightning.)

Also in the last panel it looks like Vader catches one of the RG's pikes, so I expect him to own them... But then Palpatine will intervene again and proceed to crush Vader(especially now that he's saberless), and leave him "battered and broken" on Mustafar -- as indicated in the solicits for issue #7:

*The theory is that "Episode IV" mentioned in the solicit is an intentional typo, and they really meant "Episode IX"(which makes sense, given Pak's previous statements that this series/arc will directly connect to Ep.IX.) So I imagine the "Sith Assassin" mentioned in the solicit will be Ochi... And it seems like the "greatest secret" Vader discovers might be that Palpatine has clones/offspring running around.

So yeah, pretty much all the predictions were accurate...
