Alternate RotS Fights

How do these alternate scenarios play out?

1. Anakin confronts General Grievous on Utapau, meanwhile Mace assembles a strike team to confront Darth Sidious - this time he swaps out Kit Fisto for Obi-Wan Kenobi.

2. Yoda pursues Vader on Mustafar, meanwhile Obi-Wan confronts Darth Sidious in the senate chamber.

3. Vader defeats Obi-Wan on Mustafar, and acts on his plan to kill Darth Sidious.

A) Anakin slaughters the general, Sidious takes the team.

B) Kenobi dies and MF Vader loses.

C) He succeeds.

1. Anakin shreds Grievous, and Windu's strike succeeds.
2. Yoda wins an unpredictable fight, Kenobi dies to Sidious.
3. Depends on how killing Kenobi plays with his psyche, but I'd back Sidious tentatively.

1. Anakin stomps Grievous.
Same scenario happens. Kenobi gets blitzed, except he will probably hold out a bit longer than Fisto ( but not enough to make a huge difference)

2. Since Yoda is dealing with a tired and distressed Vader. He should win without much difficulty.
And Kenobi gets blitzed again.

3. The ROTS video game interestingly enough shows this.

1. Anakin takes Grievous, Sidious beats the team.

2. Yoda beats MFV and Sidious beats Obi-Wan.

3. Idk. Combatively speaking Vader is superior but Sidious might be able to psychologically mess with Vader.

1, Anakin beats Grievous. Mace would never assemble a strike team since Palpatine wouldn't have exposed himself without Anakin there.

2. Obi-Wan dies to Sidious. No idea who wins between Mustafar Vader and Yoda.

I'm not convinced that Sidious can take Kenobi and Windu.

1.Anakin’s mobility will cost him against Grievous. Sidious wins if the confusion haze works on Kenobi. Otherwise I’m not sure.

2.Yoda, short fight. Kenobi dies

3.Fails.

1. anakin destroys grievous , kenobi makes no difference in that fight : it is still sheev vs amped mace after a very short period of time .
2. yoda wins in a great fight , obi wan gets ragdolled and killed
3. depends if he acts right away or he waits and acts like his apprentice for a while to grow more powerful .
KF vader would lose if he confronts sidious right away ,
but if he gets the chance to grow he would eventually surpass sidious (few months might be enough since his potential is basically limitless) .

3)Ani dies if he fights Sidious immediately, if he trains he will eventually surpass him

1. Even if base Anakin isn't enough he'd probably cut-loose in character anyway, as he did with Dooku since there are no other Jedi watching him. Sidious loses in sabers but might win with lightning.

2. Yoda. Anakin is more powerful but Yoda is an all-around better fighter. Kenobi dies.

3. Sidious for the same reasons Yoda wins.

The disrespect of Anakin and especially KF Vader will be struck down as the heresy it is.

In all seriousness KF Vader is taking Sidious. And a hypothetical Vader that killed Kenobi would likely be more powerful than even his KF incarnation. So yeah Vader is successful in his attempt to kill Sidious.

1 - Anakin beats Griveous handily. Team still gets destroyed.

2 - Obi-Wan would rather have anal fisting from 4 arms of Griveous than facing Sidious, Yoda also overwhelms Anakin.

3 - Check RotS video game.

Not sure how reliable the ROTS alternate ending is for our purposes.

First, Vader deliberately took Sidious by surprise. Since the thread title mentions ~~"dueling"~~ "fighting," I don't think a surprise assassination is an accurate depiction.

Second, per Rise of Darth Vader, Sidious says he would've been surprised had Vader not made an attempt to kill him if he'd beaten Obi-Wan:

Powered by treachery, the Sith Master–apprentice relationship was always a dangerous game. Trust was encouraged even while being sabotaged; loyalty was demanded even while betrayal was prized; suspicion was nourished even while honesty was praised.

In some sense, it was survival of the fittest.

Fundamental to Vader’s growth was the desire to overthrow his Master.

Had Vader killed Obi-Wan on Mustafar, he might have attempted to kill Sidious, as well. In fact, Sidious would have been surprised if Anakin hadn’t made an attempt. Now, however, incapable of so much as breathing on his own, Vader could not rise to the challenge, and Sidious understood that he would need to do everything in his power to shake Vader out of his despair, and reawaken the incredible power within him.

Even at Sidious’s own peril …

So I'm not convinced even a non-duel assassination attempt would've played out that way.

So I'm not convinced even a non-duel assassination attempt would've played out that way.

I'm aware Vader took Sidious by surprise, and I'm also aware of that quote, which is why I don't think pre-suit Vader would beat Sidious despite what happened in the dark side ending. I just didn't feel the need to go in-depth since we conveniently had an animated scene from an official source showcasing what would happen. Note how I also answered one of the other scenarios with Mace never assembling a strike force, so I wasn't looking at these alternate scenarios from the perspective of fair-and-square fights.

Anakin beats Grievous, strike team beats Sidious. Kenobi lasts a fair bit longer than Kit since Mace will be the main threat.

Yoda wins. Kenobi could win if Sidious underestimates him but he more likely gets ragdolled.

Vader might kill Sidious if he has time to rest. If not, he dies. Not convinced Anakin could beat Sidious though.

B-team fight never ends up happening.

Sidious laughs and blinks at Kenobi.

Sidious beats Vader, but it's not an easy fight.

1. Anakin kills Grievous. Mace vs Sidious wouldn't happen
2. Sidious and Yoda win their fights
3. Really depends on how it plays out. Factors such as Anakin's psychological state, growth and timing would have to be considered.
