It relates more when mind techniques come into play. As long as the fight is a duel or a force duel with conventional force abilities willpower doesn’t have much importance. Having said that, willpower correlates directly into force power.

It plays a huge role. Willpower is not the ONLY contributor to Force power, but it is the main one in being able to actualize your power. Any Force contest is simultaneously a contest of wills and power. The two are not identical but they are intertwined.

And as usual ISV somehow finds a way to turn the discussion entirely unrelated to Vader onto Vader. And every time he mentions Vader's name the forum lowers Vader just a small bit.

Willpower isn't the end be it of all though. Willpower helps people actualize their potential and utilise their raw power effectively in combat. If the person is lacking in Force Reserves then no matter their willpower they will essentially be useless in combat.

It's certainly helpful, but only to an extent. Overall combative ability factors in so many things: willpower, skill, experience, augmentation, mastery, knowledge, techniques unknown to others, even age etc.

One could view actualized power as a phenomenon played into by potential, willpower, emotional state (rage for Sith, peace for Jedi), and mastery.
