Note that I know Yoda is the winner of this matchup. The purpose of this thread is to see how well Dooku does before losing.

Contrasting performances against Dooku in YDR and AOTC as well as superiority to the Anakin that curbed Dooku should suffice tbh.

yoda was able to increase his dueling speed to the point he disarmed sidous after two strikes .
he always had a soft spot for dooku . if yoda is 100% serious he wrecks .

An all-out Yoda absolutely destroys Dooku given his parity with Sidious (including defeating him in the duel) vs. Dooku's massive inferiority to Sidious.

RotS Yoda >> RotS Dooku. If Dooku had growth during the clone wars, he could have defeated AotC Yoda, but he still loses to him in pure sabers.

He held him off for a matter of seconds then retreated.

The duel was 40 seconds which is longer than Jinn vs Maul on Tatooine and that was an evenly matched fight.

Didn't even gain a single advantage on Yoda. That's not putting up a good fight.

While Yoda was not pressed to defend against Dooku that doesn't indicate massive superiority and most certainly render Dooku holding him off for 40 seconds irrelevant. Not to mention this is a strawmann I said Dooku put up a decent fight not a good one. There is a difference.

And there's the running theory that Yoda was holding back during that fight.

Care to substantiate this with any evidence?

@The Ellimist: I wonder though if Palpatine's apparent massive superiority would translate to a battle where sabers is actively in play.

It likely wouldn't IMO, based on Lucas's stance on Dooku.
