Why do people like Darth Krayt?

Personally, I've never understood the love for the character. I never found him particularly interesting or compelling when I read Legacy and I'm curious as to why so many people like him. The only things the character has going for him in my opinion are:

-Badass lines of dialogue.

-An awesome design (both of his designs are kewl).

And that's really it.

Probably his new approach to Sith teachings, establishing a new order, his cunning and intel... After Palpatine who is arguably the best villain in SW, Krayt felt like the only who is capable of replacing him. I am not a huge fan of Krayt but there are really shit characters in SW and Hett isn't one of them imo.

Yeah, I don't think he's shit, but he's certainly not one of my favourites, and I was rather indifferent towards him.

I quite like him because he's quite a contradictory character. He fell to the dark side because he wanted revenge on Sidious and Vader, then eventually decided to one-up them by creating a new Sith order instead. He's also a lot less powerful than Sheev, who I find quite boring because even by ROTS there are only about 5 Jedi or Sith who can convincingly beat him. Krayt is powerful, but not too overboard. 

My reasons boil down to:

- Good character motivations.
- Cool design.
- Interesting villain who actually has a point at times.
- Isn't ridiculously overpowered like most of the post-ROTJ rubbish.
- Seemed to get by more on his cunning and political abilities rather than his combat abilities, which is much more interesting to read.

Krayt is my favorite Sith and one of my 3 favorite SW characters. Here's why:
As Hett:
-Super unique origin story
-Badass character design right from the start
-Well-developed character with fleshed out motivations and strong personality
-Unique perspective and personal code of conduct
-Awesome one-liners
-Kicked Anakin on his ass

As Krayt:
-Again, super unique transition/fall
-Badass character design
-Awesome one-liners
-Compelling motivations
-Continuing the trend, very well-developed character
-Seriously just read his entrance to the Abeloth fight and tell me you don't get chills

I could go on but you get the idea.

For the same reason they like Starkiller

Because they like anime

Mainly because of his backstory, characters like him who are active for multiple eras are usually really liked by the fandom l

Characters that have a good fall to the dark side will always be my favorite, i.e Anakin, Jacen, Krayt, and many more.

He's kind of the dark mirror of Luke Skywalker. And there's something respectable about his tenacity despite losing everything repeatedly. He just keeps on fighting against all adversity, and at the end of all that, when he's reborn, he's become self-actualized in a way. He's been through and seen everything, and he knows who and what he is and what his place in the galaxy is; there's nothing that can upend him emotionally or psychologically at that point.

Krayt's reborn look is honestly my favorite character design alongside Vader's suit.

canon vader is best looking character EZ. but yeah, reborn krayt is the karking kriff. dope as kark. if vader ever had a a full on older face for us to see, i want it to look like that. hell, i would want HIM to look like that.
