After lengthy consideration, we will be converting Suspect Insight Forums to a Discord-based community: Suspect Insight Discord. As Suspect Insight is the spiritual successor of many great Star Wars versus forum boards--such as Coalition of Darkness, ComicVine, KillerMovies Forums, and StarWarsForums--this was a difficult decision. However, while it has been proven difficult to recruit new members to participate in forum discussions, there is enormous untapped potential for those interested in more informal, quick, chat-style versus debates. Accordingly, we believe this move could quickly boom the Star Wars versus community to new heights.

The new Suspect Insight Discord will host multiple channels for Star Wars versus, Star Wars Legends discussion, Star Wars Canon discussion, and non-Star Wars general discussion. Most of Suspect Insight Forums will be put under a view-only mode for new and old members to still read and reflect on past discussions. As Discord chat lacks formatting options or Google searchability, Suspect Insight Forums will continue to host formal debates (Suspect Showdowns) and blogs. The Suspect Insight Discord will receive bot notifications whenever a new Suspect Showdown or blog is created. Suspect Insight Forums will also remain open for any other Star Wars discussions (in the "Star Wars Discussion" section)--versus or not--that members would rather have in a forum than chat setting (e.g. a post on why Exar Kun defeats Darth Maul, a debate on Yoda versus Darth Krayt minus the formalities of a Suspect Showdown, top ten rankings, etc.). In short, we hope most activity will take place on the Discord but posts better suited for a forum should continue to be posted on the forums and will be made aware to the Discord members.

Note that Suspect Insight Discord is a wholly original server and will rigorously enforce all rules (outlined on the Discord) with a large mod team. Although other Star Wars versus debating servers exist with questionable policies, we hope to differentiate ourselves from them and establish a welcoming community for all.
