Grievous

Intro

  1. Ah, the great General Fisto. I am going to enjoy this.

  2. Greetings, Jedi filth. Prepare to die.

  3. Every Jedi is my enemy, and my enemies are not deserving of mercy.

Ambient

  1. The Jedi are cowards who would rather talk than fight.

  2. How many of your Jedi have fallen beneath my blades?

  3. My entire body is now a weapon!

  4. We shall see who is clever, and who is dead.

  5. You are a long way from the ocean, Nautolan.

  6. I am the vision in every Jedi’s darkest nightmare.

First Advantage

  1. I do not need battle droids to kill Jedi.

  2. I was trained in the Jedi arts by a Sith Lord!

  3. Don’t bother to surrender. I don’t take prisoners.

  4. The Jedi are overrated as warriors.

  5. You can’t see it, but now I am smiling under this mask.

  6. You are quicker with your words than with your saber.

Second Advantage

  1. Die, Jedi dog!

  2. You fail to impress me.

  3. You will perish before me, Jedi slime.

  4. You are mine.

  5. I will gut you like a fish.

  6. Soon you will taste death, Jedi.

On Victory

  1. You are defeated, Fisto. Somehow I thought I’d feel more of a sense of accomplishment.

  2. Is this the level of skill I can expect from the rest of the Jedi Council? This will be a very short war.

  3. Where are your insults now, Jedi scum?

First Disadvantage

  1. This defiance will only make your inevitable death more painful.

  2. You won’t be smiling much longer, Jedi scum.

  3. I do not suffer insults from Jedi scum.

  4. Keep joking, Jedi fool, but I will have the last laugh.

  5. You are fragile and weak, like all Jedi.

  6. Lower your guard for an instant, and you’re dead.

Second Disadvantage

  1. Gah! You should be dead by now!

  2. I will take good care of your lightsaber.

  3. Your efforts are futile, Jedi.

  4. You cannot afford a single mistake, Nautolan.

  5. I will slice you into chum.

  6. Playtime is over, Jedi. Now you will die!

On Defeat

  1. Bah! The biggest joke is that the Jedi think they can win this war!

  2. You may reclaim these lightsabers, Jedi, but I have more. Many more. Laughing and coughing

  3. Better warriors than you have tried to keep me prisoner. They failed.

Kit Fisto

Intro

  1. Your reign of terror ends now, Grievous!

  2. You’ve killed your last Jedi, you mechanical horror.

  3. You’re at the wrong place at the wrong time, Grievous.

Ambient

  1. I can see that subtlety isn’t one of your strengths.

  2. You’re still here? Perhaps you are not a coward after all!

  3. It seems you’ve been whittled down to nothing, General.

  4. When they put you back together, I think they forgot the brain.

  5. Just because the Jedi are peacekeepers, doesn’t mean we don’t know how to fight.

  6. We all take risks. Some less than others.

First Advantage

  1. If you showed half the guts on the battlefield as I can see in your chest, you’d be winning this war!

  2. So, you’re Dooku’s science project. I thought I’d be more impressed.

  3. You won’t be going anywhere after I cut off your arms and legs.

  4. So many lightsabers, so little ability to wield them.

  5. You’re barely treading water against me!

  6. The Jedi will crash like a wave on your armies and sweep them away.

Second Advantage

  1. You have all the finesse of a utility droid.

  2. Look sharp, iron-sides!

  3. With so many sabers, how do you keep missing?

  4. I will take your lightsabers back to the Jedi Temple.

  5. Only a droid would follow you into battle.

  6. Temper, temper.

On Victory

  1. You’re finished, Grievous. The galaxy has suffered enough at your hands.

  2. Those stolen lightsabers have struck down their last Jedi, Grievous.

  3. You should have known better than to face a Jedi Master, Grievous.

First Disadvantage

  1. How far you have fallen since the days when you were a proud warrior.

  2. I warn you, General. Surrender now, or face the consequences.

  3. You’re not a warrior. You’re a tool of the Sith!

  4. What kind of general commands an army of droids?

  5. A true warrior fights for something greater than himself.

  6. You’re not the worst swordsman I’ve ever faced.

Second Disadvantage

  1. Greed is not the way of a true warrior.

  2. This lightsaber stays with me, Grievous!

  3. You have to be quicker!

  4. The other three sabers only get in your way!

  5. You can surrender any time, General.

  6. Your skills are rustier than your chassis!

On Defeat

  1. The Jedi will never stop hunting you, Grievous. No matter how far you run, or how deeply you hide.

  2. My lightsaber is not a trophy, Grievous. It’s a reminder that the Jedi will stop you.

  3. I will never betray the Republic or the Jedi Order. Not like your master, Count Dooku.

Summary

Grievous apparently has enough of a face left to smile under the mask. As in the TCW episode where they duel, a note is made about Grievous’s as-yet unfulfilled desire to defeat a Jedi Master in combat. Grievous’s potential advantage is attributed to his warrior heritage and his training by Count Dooku. Kit Fisto’s potential advantage is attributed to Grievous’s lack of finesse and impulsivity.

First Disadvantage

  1. This fight doesn’t end until you’re in my custody!

  2. You’re not a warrior, Grievous! You’re a butcher.

Kit Fisto

Intro

  1. Master Windu. I hope you’re ready for a humbling experience.

  2. Greetings, Master Windu! I was beginning to think you were avoiding my challenge.

  3. If you’re expecting an easy victory, prepare to be disappointed.

Ambient

  1. I would see you smile just once before I join the Living Force.

  2. Yours is a strong voice on the Jedi Council, Master Windu.

  3. I think Anakin will surprise you, Master. I’ve never seen such a dedicated Jedi.

  4. I know you have a sense of humor, and I’m determined to find it.

  5. The future is as murky as a storm tossed sea.

  6. I wouldn’t be so confident, Master Windu. The outcome of this bout is not a foregone conclusion.

First Advantage

  1. If I win this bout, you have to smile.

  2. I may be new to the Jedi Council, but I’m well acquainted with the lightsaber.

  3. You should spend less time admiring my technique and more time defending yourself.

  4. I think convincing everyone you’re the best swordsman was the greatest Jedi mind trick of all!

  5. Don’t misinterpret my smile. I take my training very seriously.

  6. I thought your defenses were supposed to be impenetrable.

Second Advantage

  1. I recognize that scowl!

  2. Your reputation is in danger, Master Windu.

  3. I am relentless, like breakers on the shore!

  4. Where are the legendary Windu defenses?

  5. You may yield, but where’s the fun in that?

  6. It’s not looking good for the champion!

On Victory

  1. Looks like I’ve broken your winning streak, Master Windu!

  2. If defeating Master Windu in single combat isn’t worth a smile, then I don’t know what is!

  3. I am honored to be one of the small number of Jedi who have bested you in combat, Master Windu.

First Disadvantage

  1. My defensive forms are rusty. Too much time carving up battle droids.

  2. Okay, I think I have given you enough of an advantage.

  3. Smile, Master Windu! These are dark times, but we can’t let that darkness become a part of us.

  4. I can count on my tentacles the number of times I have beaten you.

  5. Dooku was lucky he faced Kenobi and Skywalker instead of you.

  6. Either my skills have stayed the same, or yours are improving!

Second Disadvantage

  1. This is where the tide turns!

  2. I pity the Sith Lord who faces you.

  3. Your skills are as sharp as ever.

  4. Not so fast, Master Windu!

  2. Keep your thoughts in this bout if you want to defeat me.

  3. You fought well on Geonosis. I would stand at your side in any battle.

  4. If you think my technique is aggressive, wait ‘till you face a Sith Lord.

  5. Judging from your performance, I’d say we scheduled this training bout just in time.

  6. I enjoy a good workout! I’m waiting for you to give me one.

Second Advantage

  1. I’ve seen you fight better than this.
    (repeated 2x)
  2. Nothing personal, but I don’t like to lose.

  3. I expect better from a member of the Council

  4. Brush those tentacles out of your eyes and fight!

  5. I don’t need to boast. My record speaks for itself.

On Victory

  1. Don’t be so hard on yourself, Master Fisto. The match did take longer than I expected.

  2. There is no shame in losing to me, Master Fisto.

  3. It seems only Master Yoda can provide me with a sufficient challenge.

First Disadvantage

  1. So, this is what losing feels like. Interesting sensation.

  2. I’ve never seen a Nautolan move with such grace out of the water.

  3. Your forms flow with great artistry.

  4. Your technique is both precise and unpredictable.

  5. You must be improving, because my skills have never been sharper.

  6. Your underwater training has given you great speed.

Second Disadvantage

  1. You won’t defeat me so easily.

  2. I’d forgotten how skilled you are.

  3. Keep the pressure on.

  4. I should know better than to underestimate you.

  5. We’re not done here, Fisto.

  6. You know how to handle a lightsaber.

On Defeat

  1. Congratulations, Master Fisto. We’re not keeping score, are we?

  2. Well fought, Master Fisto. The Jedi Council is fortunate to have someone with your wisdom and skill as a member.

  3. You are a master with the blade. It was a pleasure to spar with you.

Summary

Mace Windu and Kit Fisto have been sparring against each other for a long time, since Fisto was a Padawan. Kit Fisto has beaten Windu before, but rarely – making him one of the very few to have accomplished this. He typically provides at least a challenging bout though. Kit seeks some validation from Mace. Kit’s potential advantage is attributed to his speed. Mace’s potential advantage is attributed to his aggressive form and his tenacity.

Intro

  1. Here we go again!

  2. I like you, Obi-Wan. So why not save yourself the humiliation and yield now?

  3. Back for more, old friend?

Ambient

  1. Don’t worry… I’m sure you’ll be granted a seat on the Jedi Council. Eventually.

  2. All I see is the Padawan I used to vanquish on a regular basis.

  4. Perhaps this will be your lucky day! Not likely, but perhaps.

  5. The outcome of this match isn’t in doubt, Obi-Wan.

  6. You haven’t changed a bit, Kenobi! Still the same deluded youngling who thinks he can beat me.

  2. Not so much fun to be on the receiving end, is it?

  3. I think you’d better replace the power-cells in your lightsaber.

  4. You are about to learn a very hard lesson, Kenobi.

  5. Fisto wipes the floor with Kenobi… just like old times.

  6. Don’t give up, Obi-Wan. Sooner or later, you’re bound to get lucky.

  2. Too bad your lightsaber isn’t as sharp as your wit.

  3. It’s bad manners to defeat a member of the Jedi Council.

  4. If you keep fighting like this, you might stand a chance against Master Windu!

  5. I see you learned a thing or two from young Skywalker.

  3. I will never give up! I will never surrender!

  4. Notice how I’m not giving up?

  5. You are one determined Jedi.

  6. Your persistence is paying off!

On Defeat

  1. Thank you for another invigorating bout, my old friend.

  2. Next time, we do this underwater. See how well you do then!

  3. Good fight, Kenobi. I still think you cheated somehow.

Obi-Wan

Intro

  1. I do enjoy our bouts, Master Fisto. It has been far too long.

  2. Are you prepared to receive another humbling lesson in the art of lightsaber combat?

  3. Do try to make this worth the effort, Kit.

Ambient

  1. You are the only person I’ve ever seen make Master Windu smile.

  2. I shall try not to humiliate you completely, Master.

  3. Loser buys the Jawa Juice at Dexter’s.

  4. Apparently, they'll let just anyone join the Jedi Council these days.

  5. You do remember how to use a lightsaber, don’t you?

  6. I’d offer to fight you blindfolded… but I don’t think it would help.

First Advantage

  1. You’re fighting rather poorly today, wouldn’t you agree?

  2. Fair warning: I’m about to humble you with a dazzling display of swordsmanship.

  3. Oh, I’m sorry. Did you want me to go easy on you?

  4. Why the sour face? I should think you’ve grown used to the bitter taste of defeat.

  5. In my experience, there’s no such thing as luck. Only skill.

  6. Do I have your permission to thrash you soundly?

Second Advantage

  1. Haha! Nice try, Kit.

  2. I do enjoy a good trouncing.

  3. Had enough, old boy?

  4. Are you even trying, Kit?

  5. I sense victory.

  6. The inevitable is at hand.

On Victory

  1. Perhaps you’ll fare better next time, Master Fisto.

  2. Just because I’ve defeated you utterly doesn’t mean I don’t respect you.

  3. Another crushing victory. Why do you bother, Kit?

First Disadvantage

  1. We’re not keeping score, are we?

  2. You’re enjoying this too much, I think.

  3. You do know that I’m building up your hopes so that I can crush them?

  4. That is what winning feels like, Kit. Now I shall reacquaint you with losing.

  5. My, somebody’s been doing their exercises.

  6. Never let it be said that Kit Fisto is a poor swordsman.

Second Disadvantage

  1. This match doesn’t count, right?

  2. That smile is premature, old friend.

  3. Time to turn this around!

  4. I don’t like the looks of this.

  5. You have me at a disadvantage.

  6. You haven’t won yet, old friend!

On Defeat

  1. Defeated by Kit Fisto? My shame is worthy of the Jedi archives!

  2. You’ve achieved the impossible, Kit. Do not get used to it.

  3. I can’t win every time, can I? Only most of the time.

Summary

Kit and Obi-Wan have conflicting accounts of their past track records against the other. Kit maintains that he has beaten Obi-Wan every time, while Obi-Wan suggests that he’s beaten Kit for the majority. The implication seems to be that it’s an inside joke between the two, and it’s probably close to even. Kit pokes light fun at Kenobi for not yet being a Councilor (an event that’s soon to come to pass). Kit’s potential advantage is attributed to Obi-Wan’s predictability. Obi-Wan’s potential advantage is attributed to new tactics he’s picked up from Anakin.

Plo Koon

Intro

  2. Koh-to-yah, Master Fisto. I shall teach you a lesson about swordplay: one you will not soon forget.

  3. You possess great humility indeed, Master Fisto, since you are willing to endure another defeat at my hands.

Ambient

  1. This war may be a plot by the Sith to take over the Republic itself.

  2. You distinguished yourself at the Battle of Geonosis.

  3. The Jedi Council is fortunate to have you as a member.

  4. You have wisdom beyond your years, Master Fisto.

  5. The Sith will stop at nothing to destroy the Jedi.

  6. Your sense of humor is a welcome respite in these dark times.

First Advantage

  1. In battle, a wise Jedi does not oppose strength or yield completely.

  2. Don’t get your tentacles in a twist, Master Fisto.

  3. Be impulsive in saber combat! Mechanical repetition of forms will be your undoing.

  4. Keep your attacks simple. Flourishes leave you vulnerable.

  5. The first order of lightsaber combat is defense, Master Fisto. You seem to have forgotten.

  6. This is too easy. It is possible the Council made a mistake in elevating you?

Second Advantage

  1. Discipline, Master Fisto.

  2. You neglect your defenses.

  3. Do not let your station go to your head.

  4. Remember, Nautolan, there is always a bigger fish.

  5. Victory is a result of concentration, not desire.

  2. Do not celebrate your victory prematurely.

  3. The outcome of this duel is still very much in doubt.

  4. Do not overthink your attacks.

  5. You strike with fluidity and precision.

  6. Let the Force guide your actions.

On Defeat

  1. I look forward to the day when we once again sharpen our skills against each other instead of in the crucible of war.

  2. Mi-ku-toh, Master Fisto. There can be no doubt that you are one of the Order’s finest Jedi.

  3. Congratulations, Master Fisto! But fear not, I will not allow you to become accustomed to victory.

Summary

Seemingly, Plo Koon had once been Kit Fisto’s lightsaber instructor, and they have sparred often over the years. Plo has had numerous victories against Kit Fisto, but it is implied that Kit has not yet managed to defeat Plo before this duel. Kit is still somewhat infirm about his position on the Council, and makes a few references to Plo’s position of greater authority. Plo continues to give Kit advice on how to duel more effectively. Kit’s potential advantage is attributed to his speed and fluidity. Plo’s potential advantage is attributed to his experience and creativity.

  3. One only improves by facing a more skilled opponent. Thank you for the lesson.

Summary

Mace and Obi-Wan have sparred in the past, and Kenobi has seemingly won several times before (presumably in reference to their bout in the Obi-Wan game). Obi-Wan still concedes that Mace is the better swordsman, and mentions that he wins far more often than not. Mace’s potential advantage is attributed to his general skill level and Obi-Wan’s overabundance of caution. Obi-Wan’s potential advantage is attributed to recent improvement and his training by Qui-Gon and Mace himself.

Intro

  1. Koh-to-yah, Master Plo. I hope you’re up for a challenge.

  2. When I want to test myself against the best, I turn to you first, Master Plo.

  3. We’ve known each other too long for formalities, Master Plo. Let’s begin.

Ambient

  1. I do not like what this war has made the Jedi become.

  2. The Force grows dark, and we are all affected by it.

  3. This war may destroy the Jedi Order.

  4. It’s dangerous for so many Padawans to join the war before they’re ready.

  5. No betrayal has stung so deeply as Count Dooku’s.

  6. The dark side descends like a veil across the galaxy.

First Advantage

  1. You may be able to sense my moves, but I’m still too fast for you!

  2. Your mind powers won’t help you in this fight, Master Plo.

  3. I’m accustomed to winning, but I expect more of a challenge from you.

  4. You need to learn some new tricks, Master Plo.

  5. You fight a reactive battle. You can’t win that way against a strong opponent.

  6. The Jedi have enemies everywhere now, even the Senate.

Second Advantage

  2. It takes great wisdom to master powers so close to the dark side.

  3. Your Force powers are formidable.

  4. I haven’t faced such a difficult opponent since the last time I fenced Master Yoda!

  5. Keep fighting like that, and you just might beat me.
    (repeated 2x)

Second Disadvantage

  1. The war has sharpened your skills.

  2. You are as skillful as ever.

  3. I won’t make this easy for you.

  4. You know how to confound an opponent.

  5. Your technique is overpowering!

  6. I have plenty of fight left in me!

On Defeat

  1. I never failed to learn from our bouts, Master Plo.

  2. Well fought, Master Plo. You’re one of my most trusted friends in the Jedi Order.

  3. Mi-ku-toh, Master Plo. It is never shameful to lose to a Jedi of your skill.

Plo Koon

Intro

  1. Koh-to-yah, Master Windu. You look ready for a fight.

  2. Few Jedi in the Order tax my lightsaber skills the way you do, Master Windu.

  3. Greetings, my old friend. It has been far too long since we crossed swords.

Ambient

  1. We must end this war before it consumes the Jedi Order.

  2. This war has sometimes made me question my sense of right and wrong.

  3. The Supreme Chancellor is consolidating a disturbing amount of power.

  4. What will become of the clone army once the war finally ends?

  5. I sense this war is only one more step in a far greater game.

  6. We lost many good Jedi on Geonosis. Their sacrifice will not be in vain.

First Advantage

  1. Your proclivity to attack weakens your defense.

  2. To adhere to a rigid form is to be bound by its limitations.

  3. Did you not foresee the futility of this combat?

  4. Skywalker still struggles with his emotions, but I still believe we made the right decision to train him.

  5. Perhaps it’s time we reassessed your reputation as a swordsman.

  6. I fight to win, not to stalemate.

Second Advantage

  1. Even the mightiest among us must fall eventually.

  2. You’re slipping, old friend.

  3. Sometimes caution is advisable.

  4. Even your speed has limits, Master Windu.

  5. You’ll have a difficult time winning this one now.

  6. Prepare yourself for defeat.

On Victory

  1. I can always depend on pushing my skills to the limit when facing you, my old friend.

  2. Mi-ku-toh, Master Windu. Your unmatched skills make my victory all the more satisfying.

  3. I am pleased by the outcome of this bout, old friend. Pleased, but not surprised.

First Disadvantage

  1. Beware of the dark side, old friend. It wants to find purchase within you.

  2. It’s good to train with someone who uses such an aggressive technique.

  3. This is just like old times, before the war.

  4. I had hoped to spend my remaining years in quiet meditation, not fighting a war.

  5. Count Dooku was a contrarian, but I never thought him capable of such evil.

  6. You remain one of the finest swordsmen the Order has ever produced.

Second Disadvantage

  1. Your attacks are effective, as always.

  2. Attack forms are only half the battle, Master Windu.

  3. You’re growing older, but no less formidable.

  4. You know very well that I will not yield.

  5. You’d best strike fast before I regain the advantage.

  6. The Force runs strong in you, Master Windu.

On Defeat

  1. Your skill with a lightsaber surely surpasses Master Yoda’s!

  2. Mi-ku-toh, Master Windu. Did I ever stand a chance against you?

  3. An excellent bout, Master Windu. This has been most instructive.

Summary

Mace Windu and Plo Koon are old friends and the other’s preferred sparring partner. Mace still wins most of their duels, but Plo has seemingly won in the past. Plo is again compared to Yoda in terms of skill, and, on being defeated by Windu, Plo suggests this must mean Windu is more capable than even Yoda. Both Jedi Masters give the other advice throughout the duel. Mace’s potential advantage is attributed to his speed and aggressive style, while Plo’s potential advantage is attributed to his unusual Force powers and tactics.

Ambient

  1. At times, I think of you as one of my own pupils!

  2. Qui-Gon once told me you were the brightest student he’d ever trained.

  4. You did well in your training of Skywalker.

  5. Qui-Gon will always be with you, Master Kenobi.

  6. Qui-Gon Jinn was a good friend, and I am proud to say the same of you, Obi-Wan.

First Advantage

  1. Blade skill is not everything. Be mindful of the Living Force.

  2. I know Qui-Gon taught you to parry better than that.

  2. Mi-ku-toh, Obi-Wan. Well done.

  3. Your skills sharpen my own, Master Kenobi.

Summary

Several references are made to their spar in the Obi-Wan game, with it being shown that Obi-Wan did defeat Plo, but Plo’s victory was the status quo. Since then though, Obi-Wan has improved considerably. As alluded to in his duel with Fisto, Obi-Wan is anxious about achieving the rank of Master, and Plo advises him on his prospects. Plo taught Kenobi as a second master to Qui-Gon, and remarks that Qui-Gon considered Obi-Wan his best student and that by now Obi-Wan has surpassed his old master. Obi-Wan’s potential advantage is attributed to Qui-Gon’s training and his mental balance. Plo’s potential advantage is attributed to his creative fighting style and Obi-Wan’s sluggish attacks.

  2. Whatever the explanation, our meeting must be the will of the Force.

  3. This is Master Filoni’s dream made form.

  4. You cannot defeat me, and I cannot defeat you.

  2. I will discover the meaning of this.

  3. Perhaps your saber is not as ready as you think?

  4. Your training mirrors my own.

  5. It’s not personal. It’s Jedi business.

  6. Your Jedi skills are lacking.

Second Advantage

  1. The Jedi Council must hear of this.

  2. Eyes can deceive, but the Force does not.

  3. We both know who is the superior swordsman.

  4. Lay down your sword, impostor.

  5. I will strike you down if I must.

  6. Twins don’t run in my family.

On Victory

  1. Before you can master your enemy, you must first master yourself.

  6. Defeating me is no easy task.

On Defeat

  1. Mi-ku-toh, Master Jedi. I have learned a great deal about myself.

  2. Well fought, Master Jedi. The Force instructs us, but we must be open to the message.

  3. I see the truth in the Jedi proverb “there is no greater enemy than the enemy within.”

Summary

Plo, like in most other mirror matchups, compliments his own ability quite a bit. He wonders if the doppelganger is a Sith effort to test him.
