TCW Lightsaber Duels Lines - Page 2 Empty Anakin vs Grievous

January 11th 2025, 4:13 am

Anakin

Intro

  1. It looks like someone threw you together out of spare parts, General.

  2. General Grievous. Ha, good. Now I can finally put an end to this war.

  3. You’re not what I was expecting, Grievous. I was sure you’d be more imposing.

Ambient

  1. Circuits and gears are no match for Jedi reflexes.

  2. You’re awfully big for a coward.

  3. Those lightsabers don’t belong to you, Grievous. Surrender them, or face the consequences!

  4. Oh, four lightsabers against one? It’s still not a fair fight.

  5. Size is no substitute for skill, Grievous.

  6. You might frighten younglings Grievous, but not me.

First Advantage

  1. Don’t surrender too soon! I’m beginning to enjoy this.

  2. You’ve had this coming for a long time, Grievous.

  3. Perhaps you’re not as good as Dooku thinks you are.

  4. Either Count Dooku is a terrible teacher, or you’re a poor student.

  5. This would be funny if it wasn’t so pathetic.

  6. You’re facing a real Jedi Knight this time, Grievous.

Second Advantage

  1. I only need one lightsaber to defeat you, Grievous.

  2. There’s no escape, Grievous.

  3. You’re much shorter in person.

  4. It takes skill to defeat a Jedi.

  5. Go ahead, Grievous. Flail away! It won’t save you.

  6. It’s just you and me, General.

On Victory

  1. It’s over, Grievous. You’ve taken your last trophy.

  2. There’s nowhere to run this time, Grievous. You’re finished!

  3. You didn’t seriously think you could beat me, did you?

First Disadvantage

  1. Don’t be too proud of your technology, Grievous.

  2. You overestimate your chances, General.

  3. You are one ugly droid, Grievous.

  4. Swinging that many lightsabers around, you’re bound to hit something sooner or later.

  5. Okay… this might be a little harder than I thought.

  6. I’m not going anywhere, Grievous. Unlike you, I’m not a coward.

Second Disadvantage

  1. Don’t underestimate the Force.

  2. Do you see me surrendering?

  3. I’m not finished yet, Grievous.

  4. Gloat all you want. This fight isn’t over.

  5. I could use a second lightsaber about now…

  6. Never count a Jedi out, Grievous.

On Defeat

  1. The Jedi will never surrender to you, Grievous.

  2. Enjoy my lightsaber while you can, Grievous. You won’t have it for long.

  3. We’ll meet again, Grievous, and I’ll reclaim every lightsaber you’ve taken.

Grievous

Intro

  1. Greetings, General Skywalker. Today you will learn why they call me the Knight Slayer.

  2. General Skywalker. I was expecting someone with a little more… impressive.

  3. You are the great General Skywalker? Laughter, coughing

Ambient

  1. You Jedi are all the same. Easy prey.

  2. I’ve been looking forward to our meeting, Skywalker.

  3. You’re a little old for a Padawan.

  4. We shall see if your reputation is deserved.

  5. Why have we not met before, Skywalker? Have you been hiding from me?

  6. You’ll find me a more challenging opponent than my battle droids.

First Advantage

  1. I will grind your bones into dust, Jedi.

  2. Our intelligence must be mistaken. I was told you’re a formidable swordsman.

  3. I will take your lightsaber, and use it to kill your own Padawan.

  4. Kenobi will be disappointed in you.

  5. How did someone of your limited skills achieve such renown?

  6. Where is that legendary lightsaber technique I’ve heard so much about?

Second Advantage

  1. Die, Jedi poodoo!

  2. The only good Jedi is a dead Jedi.

  3. Your Jedi tricks amuse me.

  4. I will present your head to Count Dooku.

  5. I’m still waiting, Skywalker. Impress me.

  6. I will teach the Jedi the meaning of fear.

On Victory

  1. You are finished, Skywalker. Tell General Kenobi that he is next.

  2. I expected so much more from a Jedi with your reputation.

  3. Is that it? Is that all the great General Skywalker has to offer? I feel cheated.

First Disadvantage

  1. I was leading soldiers into battle before you were born!

  2. You’re quick, Skywalker, but you lack strength.

  3. Nice mechanical hand, Skywalker. I see you’re on your way to becoming a droid as well!

  4. You have surprising power for one so young.

  5. You are better than most Jedi I have killed, but your fate will be no different.

  6. I will kill you, Skywalker, and then I will hunt down your Padawan.

Second Disadvantage

  1. You puny Jedi will not stop me!

  2. I am far from beaten.

  3. You are aggressive, for a Jedi.

  4. I am through toying with you.

  5. Most Jedi I have faced would be dead by now.

  6. My eyes will be the last thing you see.

On Defeat

  1. If the Jedi had true strength, you would finish me now.

  2. Bah! If I had better droids, I’d already be standing on the ruins of the Jedi Temple.

  3. Give me a warrior’s death, Jedi. I would do the same for you.

Summary

Anakin maintains that Grievous’s robotic technology is not a match for the force, and adds to the list of quips mocking Grievous for his lack of engagements against full Jedi Knights. Reasons for Anakin’s potential victory are having the Force on his side, greater speed, and a more polished technique. Reasons for Grievous’s potential victory are his battle experience, physical size, and number of weapons.

TCW Lightsaber Duels Lines - Page 2 Empty Anakin vs Kit Fisto

January 11th 2025, 4:19 am

Anakin

Intro

  1. Just because you’re a member of the Jedi Council doesn’t mean I’ll let you win, Master.

  2. Master Fisto, with your permission, it’ll be my pleasure to humble you.

  3. It’s been too long since we’ve sparred, Master Fisto. Would you like your usual handicap?

Ambient

  1. I wouldn’t have been dubbed a Jedi Knight so soon without your support.

  2. I once defeated you and Obi-Wan together! Wanna send for help?

  3. Master Kenobi always took sparring so seriously.

  4. I’ve known you almost as long as Obi-Wan, which means I also know your weaknesses.

  5. I think me and Obi-Wan could have gotten out of that trap on Geonosis without your help.

  6. I’m glad you joined the Jedi Council. They can use some new ideas.

First Advantage

  1. You won’t be grumpy like Obi-Wan after I defeat you, will you?

  2. Master Kenobi always spoke of what a great swordsman you are. You’re proving him wrong.

  3. Why are your reflexes so slow? We’re not fighting underwater.

  4. My skills have improved since we used to train together.

  5. Where’s that smile of yours, Master?

  6. Your chances of winning this bout are sinking fast, Master.

Second Advantage

  1. There’s no shame in yielding to me.

  2. You’re getting desperate, Master!

  3. Who’s smiling now?

  4. Tired, Master?

  5. The last time we met, I was the learner.

  6. You’re running out of time, Master.

On Victory

  1. I am grateful for everything you’ve done for me, Master Fisto.

  2. Thank you for the match, Master. Your respect means a lot to me!

  3. It was close, Master Fisto. The Sith don’t stand a chance against us.

First Disadvantage

  1. You won’t be smiling for long, Master Fisto.

  2. Okay… I think I’ve given you enough of an advantage.

  3. You’re much better than I remember!

  4. I’ve come back from situations far worse than this.

  5. Maybe I should do more underwater training.

  6. Okay, enough kidding around. The real fight starts now.

Second Disadvantage

  1. You’re enjoying this too much.

  2. Okay, I admit it. This doesn’t look good.

  3. Let’s make it best two out of three?

  4. I could be doing better.

  5. Time for a spectacular reversal.

  6. You’re not gonna know what hit you!

On Defeat

  1. I hope this doesn’t mean you regret supporting my elevation to Jedi Knight.

  2. The droid army won’t last long against Jedi like you, Master.

  3. The only shame in defeat is if you fail to learn from the experience.

Kit Fisto

Intro

  1. Okay, Skywalker. Let’s see just how well old Obi-Wan taught you.

  2. Are you certain you wish to challenge me, Anakin? You won’t like the outcome.

  3. Let’s figure out how good a swordsman you really are, young Skywalker.

Ambient

  1. I remember when you were that scrappy little boy Obi-Wan brought back from Tatooine.

  2. You’re facing certain defeat here, Anakin. You know that, right?

  3. You didn’t need my help to become a Jedi Knight, Anakin. You’ve earned everything you have achieved.

  4. You were the most promising youngling in a generation. What happened?

  5. I sense the turbulence within you, Skywalker.

  6. Obi-Wan can’t defeat me. What makes you think you can?

First Advantage

  1. Perhaps you should spend less time in the cockpit and more time on lightsaber drills.

  2. The tide is flowing my way, Skywalker.

  3. I hope you’re better in a starfighter than you are with a lightsaber.

  4. Let’s go, Skywalker. You’re setting a poor example for your Padawan!

  5. Funny, I was under the impression that you knew how to handle a lightsaber.

  6. My skills are clearly too much for you.

Second Advantage

  1. Had enough, Skywalker?

  2. I am somewhat less than awestruck.

  3. Wake up, Skywalker! The fight’s almost over.

  4. I had hoped this duel would stretch my abilities.

  5. Better dig deep, Skywalker.

  6. I don’t think you have it in you!

On Victory

  1. Sorry, Skywalker. Score: another victory for Master Fisto!

  2. And that, my young Jedi, is how you win a lightsaber duel.

  3. You may challenge me again, but really, why bother?

First Disadvantage

  1. Hmph! Is this how you thank me for all I have done for you?

  2. Obi-Wan once told me that your abilities sometimes frightened him. Now I understand.

  3. Remember, restraint is also a Jedi virtue.

  4. We could just stop now, and call it a draw.

  5. Obi-Wan wasn’t exaggerating about your skills!

  6. You have developed into a master swordsman!

Second Disadvantage

  1. My faith in you is well-placed.

  2. Obi-Wan is a good mentor.

  3. Unpredictable as ever, Skywalker.

  4. Now you’re beginning to impress me.

  5. I’m starting to get worried!

  6. I’m on the rocks now.

On Defeat

  1. We don’t have to tell Obi-Wan about this, do we?

  2. You have great power, Anakin! But you must also practice restraint, or that power will consume you.

  3. Well fought, Anakin. It is clear you are no longer a Padawan.

Summary

Anakin and Kit Fisto used to train together when Anakin was a Padawan. Anakin has once beaten Kit and Obi-Wan together, presumably during that same time period. Fisto still gives Anakin advice on winning the bout. Anakin’s potential advantage is attributed to his power and unpredictability. Kit’s potential advantage is attributed to his self-control and Anakin perhaps devoting less time to swordsmanship than he should.

Ambient

  2. You may be the Chosen One, but you are still subject to the decisions of the Council.

Obi-Wan maintains that he was holding back historically, and also that he rarely (if ever) has lost a match, while Anakin states that he’s beaten Obi-Wan many times. Anakin’s potential advantage is attributed to his speed and more active role in the war. Obi-Wan’s potential advantage is attributed to his control and his familiarity with Anakin’s forms.

Summary

This is their first spar together. Anakin references Plo’s reputation as one of the Order’s foremost swordsmen and one of the only Jedi to ever defeat Yoda in a spar. Plo reminisces about Qui-Gon, noting that he backed his friend in pushing for Anakin’s admission to the Jedi. Plo gives Anakin combat tips as they fight. Anakin mentions that he got tips from Obi-Wan on how to defeat Plo, suggesting Obi-Wan has done so himself (perhaps a reference to the Obi-Wan game). Anakin’s potential advantage is attributed to his physicality and Obi-Wan’s training. Plo’s potential advantage is attributed to his precision and strategy.

Summary

The battle is framed as Asajj trying to prove her growth to Dooku. On gaining any kind of advantage, Asajj is quick to claim that she has surpassed her master completely. Dooku coaxes her closer to the dark side, encouraging her to use her anger to fight him. Asajj more than anything wants the Sith title, but this is kept out of reach indefinitely by Dooku (apparently for want of ability) and she despairs on her defeat. Asajj’s potential advantage is attributed to Dooku’s advanced age, her more active role in the war, and her ferocity. Dooku’s potential advantage is attributed to his experience and control.

  2. Your words ring hollow, Jedi fool.

Obi-Wan

Intro

  1. I’ve heard of you, Ventress. You’re the one who plays at being a Sith Lord.

  2. May I have this dance, my dear?

  3. You’re hardly worth the effort, my dear.

Ambient

  1. I’ve faced two Sith Lords. I do not sense their power in you.

  2. I sense your anger grows from pain and loss. It’s never too late to heal.

  3. The dark side is a path to self destruction.

  4. You perceive the Force as little as the spoon perceives the taste of food.

  5. Don’t throw your life away. There is another path.

  6. You will drown in that ocean of hatred.

First Advantage

  1. You’ll have to do better than that, my darling.

  2. There is no need to fight, my dear.

  3. You cannot hope to defeat me. Let’s talk.

  4. Lay down your weapons before this gets unpleasant.

  5. Your training is incomplete.

  6. A little different to face an experienced Jedi, isn’t it?

Second Advantage

  1. I will kill you if I must.

  2. Where is the dark side now?

  3. You can’t win, my dear.

  4. The fight is over, darling. You’ve lost.

  5. I can sense your frustration.

  6. The dark side doesn’t suit you, my darling.

  1. I see the wounded child in you.

  2. Let go of your hate!

  3. Nice moves, darling.

  4. Count Dooku has misled you!

  5. Anger will only consume you.

  6. I’m running out of patience with you!

On Defeat

  1. There is still time to reject the dark side! Don’t let it consume you fully!

  2. The power of the Sith is an illusion! It will not sustain you!

  3. My defeat will not weaken the Jedi. They will never submit to the Sith!

Summary

Obi-Wan is quick to say that Asajj is not only not a Sith after the manner of Count Dooku or Maul either, apparently for lack of power. Kenobi tries to convince her to renounce the dark side, but Asajj wants blood. Asajj’s potential advantage is attributed to the temporary power given by the dark side and Dooku’s tutelage. Kenobi’s potential advantage is attributed to his experience and discipline.

  6. The dark side does not nurture. It feeds until there is nothing left.

First Advantage

  1. Your training is incomplete, but your arrogance is prodigious.

  2. I thought you’d be made of stronger stuff.

  3. You will not satisfy your thirst for blood with me.

Second Disadvantage

  1. I am more dangerous than you realize.

  2. You have caused enough misery in the galaxy!

  3. The Force is not an instrument of death!

  4. Your anger masks your fear.

Dooku

Intro

  1. This must be the work of my master, Darth Sidious.

  2. You’d best be as good a swordsman as I am, impostor, or this will be a very short fight.

  3. Whoever you are, you will pay for this insult with your life.

Ambient

  1. There can only be one apprentice.

  2. I have no time for such games. I have important work to do.

  3. Your style is a pleasure to behold.

  4. I do not care for cheap tricks and masquerade.

  5. Is this some form of Sith trial?

  6. Did my old friend Sifo-Dyas commission a clone of me, as well?

First Advantage

  1. Since no Jedi is my equal with the blade, you must be the impostor.

  2. You are an accomplished swordsman, but you are no match for me.

  3. Your defenses are splendid! Against an ordinary Jedi, they would be enough.

  4. This duel is in affront to my dignity.

  5. I will not suffer this insult much longer.

  6. Your skills are undeniable, but I am the real Lord Tyranus.

Second Advantage

  1. You have given me a good fight, impostor, but you cannot defeat me!

  2. If you are me, then I must confess a certain disappointment.

  3. Surely you can do better!

  2. I admire your style.

  3. Most impressive!

  4. The Force is strong with you.

  5. My compliments to your master.

  2. If I must suffer defeat, it is some consolation that it was at your hands.

  3. Show me no mercy, Count, for I would have given you none.

Summary

Dooku repeatedly brings up his belief that he has ascended beyond “ordinary” Jedi by becoming a Sith Lord, and that no Jedi can be his equal with the lightsaber or knowledge in the Force. He posits that Darth Sidious had somehow cloned him as a test.

Dooku

Intro

  1. I don’t waste my time fighting droids.

  2. I have yet to face a droid that can last more than a few moments against me in combat.

  3. A droid programmed for swordplay?

Ambient

  1. I will be the judge of your lightsaber skills, droid.

  2. You present a formidable appearance. You will strike fear into the Jedi.

  3. Without the ability to use the Force, you will find it difficult to kill Jedi.

  4. I am less than enthusiastic about your chances in this fight, droid.

  5. A droid without the skill to back up its boasts is worthless.

  6. A droid has yet to be built that can reliably kill Jedi.

First Advantage

  1. I should punish your maker for his incompetence.

  2. Your technique is impeccable, but it lacks artistry.

  3. I have trained Jedi Padawans with more aptitude.

  4. You fight like a machine! All too predictable.

  5. Your maker promises more than he can deliver.

  6. Are you the final model? Or is there more work to do?

Second Advantage

  1. You have speed, but not Jedi reflexes.

  2. Thus far, I am unimpressed, droid.

  3. Is your programming incomplete? Or simply inadequate?

  4. You are a poor excuse for a war droid.

  5. We will never destroy the Jedi with such ineffective hardware.

  6. Deficient programming. Shoddy construction.

On Victory

  1. The Banking Clan is wasting its resources on projects like this.

  2. You will need major upgrades if you are to destroy the Jedi.

  3. If the Banking Clan sends me one more pathetic droid like this, I will have the Chairman’s head.

First Disadvantage

  1. You will be a powerful weapon in our arsenal against the Jedi.

  2. The droid foundries have finally produced something of value.

  3. You have adequate speed and agility.

  4. Brute strength will not be sufficient against a Jedi.

  5. You have done well so far. But can you fight to the finish?

  6. You may be a worthy tool of the Sith after all.

Second Disadvantage

  1. Extraordinary workmanship.

  2. You’re beginning to impress, droid.

  3. With additional instruction, you will be powerful indeed.

  4. At last, cause for optimism.

  5. You are relentless.

  6. Your skills are satisfactory.

On Defeat

  1. If even I cannot defeat you, the Jedi will surely fall.

  2. My compliments to your maker.

  3. With a thousand more units like you, I could eradicate the Jedi in a matter of weeks.

Summary

The battle is framed as Dooku assessing the droid’s worthiness as a challenge to the Jedi. Dooku, similar to his subordinates and the Jedi, has his reservations about the possibility of the droid’s effectiveness, particularly due to its lack of the Force and its unsubtle attack patterns. Dooku’s potential advantage is attributed to his access to the Force, creativity, and reflexes. The droid’s potential advantage is attributed to its raw speed and strength.

Dooku

Intro

Ambient

  1. You must never show mercy in combat, General. Crush your enemies without pity.

  2. You did well in your duty to safeguard the Separatist Council.

  4. You must break your enemy’s will if you are to defeat them completely.

  5. The Jedi never stop training, and neither will you.

  6. You must become greater than the sum of your parts if you are to defeat Jedi in battle.

First Advantage

  1. You must finish a Jedi swiftly. The longer the battle lasts, the greater the chance you will be defeated.

  2. You won’t live up to your name fighting like that, Grievous.

  3. Your defense is lacking, General. Shall I cut off all your robotic limbs again?

  4. You are not a simple fan blade. Use each lightsaber to your advantage.

  5. Perhaps I made a mistake when I took you as my apprentice.

  6. Your movements are clumsy and random. It takes more than brute force to kill a Jedi in lightsaber combat.

Second Advantage

  1. Your incompetence is shameful.

  2. You disappoint me, General.

  3. I should not be defeating you so easily.

  4. Where is your warrior’s heart?

  6. Have you retained none of my training, General?

On Victory

  1. I see there is still ample room for improvement, General.

  2. You won’t kill many Jedi fighting like that. Younglings and Padawans, perhaps, but not Jedi.

  3. I am discouraged by your performance, General. I hope it was not a mistake to train you.

First Disadvantage

  1. You may surpass Qui-Gon Jinn as my greatest apprentice in the art of lightsaber combat!

  2. Good. I knew I made you general of the droid army for a reason.

  3. With your machine speed and my instruction, you will be unstoppable.

  4. You are developing your own style of combat. Good.

  5. Good, General. If you can give me a challenge, no mere Jedi can oppose you.

  6. If you continue to fight like this, you will soon add many more lightsabers to your collection.

Second Disadvantage

  1. You’re taking to your training well.

  2. Your progress pleases me, General.

  3. Excellent control, General.

  4. I will make a Jedi killer of you yet!

  5. This is more like it, General.

  6. Press your attack. You must be relentless.

  3. I will not stop until every Jedi lies dead.

  4. The Sith are the only warriors worthy of my respect.

  5. I will not fail you in the campaign against the Jedi, my lord.

  6. Do not patronize me, Count. On my homeworld, my name was feared long before this war began.

First Advantage

  1. Your endless training sessions grow tiresome, Count.

  2. Surely you can see that I have surpassed you.

  3. You will find that I am more than a match for you now, my lord.

  4. With your training, not a single Jedi has defeated me.

  5. The Republic is starting to run low on Jedi. laughs

  6. With each Jedi I kill, I become more powerful.

On Victory

  1. Now you can see I am ready to face even the strongest Jedi!

  2. Give me more to work with than battle droids and I will conquer the galaxy, my lord.

  3. I have done what even your Sith apprentice cannot: defeat you in single combat.

First Disadvantage

  1. I will not yield this time, Count!

  2. How many Jedi must I kill to prove myself to you?

  3. I have never faced a swordsman with your skill, Count.

  4. Any reports of my cowardice are lies! I have never fled a battle.

  5. Your flesh will weaken, Count, but I will remain strong.

  6. Grah! I am still getting accustomed to my servomotor upgrades.

On Defeat

  1. There is much more that I can learn from you, my lord.

  2. You were the greater warrior, my lord.

  3. Grah! I will not rest until I perfect my lightsaber skills.

Summary

Dooku spars with Grievous in a training session, as in OCW and mentioned in Labyrinth of Evil. Grievous has never beaten Dooku, and has historically not impressed him, suffering the loss of all his limbs as punishment at least once before. Dooku seems to treat Grievous as only a potential Jedi killer instead of an already established one. Grievous states the contrary, but also says he has never fled a battle (an account we know to be false). In the event of Grievous winning, the commentary is flooded with lines to the effect of “unstoppable” and “more than a match for any Jedi”, recalling the earlier versions of the character. Dooku notes that the reason he picked Grievous as general is for his combat skill, but does not yet believe him (or Asajj) to be a greater student in lightsaber skill than Qui-Gon Jinn. Dooku’s potential advantage is attributed to his artistry and experience. Grievous’s potential advantage is attributed to his strength, endurance, and hybrid fighting style.

Ambient

  1. It is too late, Master Fisto. The Jedi are doomed, and the Republic with them.

  2. The Separatists are all but assured a victory in this war.

  3. We’ve broken the back of the Republic. It will never be the same.

  4. I once thought as you do, Master Fisto. Then, I came to know the truth about the Jedi.

  3. You don’t possess the skills to defeat me, young Jedi!

  5. Not even a Jedi Master is immune to fear.

  6. My declarations of superiority are not boasts, merely facts.

  1. You at my mercy, Master Jedi!

  2. Soon, my friend, the Jedi flame will flicker and die.

  3. Go back to Master Yoda, and tell him I await his challenge.

First Disadvantage

  1. I can see you earned your place on the Jedi Council, Master Fisto.

  2. Your knowledge of the Force will not be enough to save you.

  3. I am not your true enemy, Master Fisto! Corruption devours the Republic from within.

  4. You cannot destroy a power you do not understand, Jedi.

  5. The Jedi have failed. The Republic is falling apart at the seams.

  6. You are powerful, Master Fisto, but you serve a dying Order.

  4. I will not fall to the likes of you, Nautolan!

  5. I am far from defeated, Master Fisto.

  6. If this is the limit of your ability, it will not be enough.

On Defeat

  1. Your victory is insignificant, Master Fisto. The Jedi will fall.

  2. The Jedi have already lost this war. They just don’t yet realize it.

  3. My fate will not alter the course of history. The Sith are destined to rule the galaxy.

  4. You have a great talent for treachery, Count.

  5. Looks like your Jedi skills have been greatly exaggerated.

  6. The only way you gain allies is through lies and fear.

Second Advantage

  1. Your evil sickens me!

  2. Peace enforced by tyranny is not the Jedi way, Count!

  3. Your treachery ends here, Dooku!

  4. You are facing a Jedi Master, Dooku, not some untested Padawan.

  5. Even you can lose a fight, Count.

  6. The Force surges through me!

On Victory

  1. It’s over, Dooku! If you cooperate, perhaps the Senate will show mercy.

  2. Unfortunately for you, Count, the Jedi don’t execute prisoners.

  3. You failed, Dooku. Now, you will face the Senate and the Order you betrayed.

First Disadvantage

  1. How can you mastermind the slaughter of your Jedi brothers?

  2. I will see this duel to the end, Dooku, not run the way you did on Geonosis!

Dooku’s potential advantage is attributed to his greater experience. Fisto’s potential advantage is attributed to his level head.

  2. You’re a fool if you think you can stand against the entire Jedi Order!

  3. Your lust for power will only consume you, Count.

Summary

Their dialogue expands on their “old friend” relationship suggested in the movie. Dooku was once one of Mace Windu’s lightsaber teachers (Mace’s was a different Jedi Master, left unnamed here but noted to be skilled by Dooku), and Mace was his star pupil at the time. Dooku was never beaten by Mace during his time at the Jedi Temple, but Mace has improved substantially since then. Mace is deeply indignant at Dooku’s betrayal, while Dooku mocks Mace for continuing to serve the Republic. Dooku’s potential advantage is attributed to the strength the dark side brings him and his dueling experience. Mace’s potential advantage is attributed to his aggressive form and his improvements since his time as Dooku’s student.

  6. Are you proud of all the pain and horror you’ve created?

First Advantage

  1. You have been twisted by the dark side, Dooku!

  1. Qui-Gon wanted to reform the Jedi Order, not destroy it!

  2. I will gladly lay down my life to preserve the Republic.

  3. This war is not the will of the Force!

  4. The Jedi will not rest until your reign of terror is ended, Dooku!

  4. You are a traitor, Dooku.

  5. You are a master of lies and deceit!

  6. I’m not finished yet, Dooku.

  2. The war is only beginning, Count.

  3. The Republic is stronger than you think, Dooku. It will survive your treachery!

Summary

Dooku wants to get Obi-Wan to join him, but Kenobi still refuses. Kenobi’s trained up for a rematch against Dooku, and is determined to not go down as easily as the last time. Dooku notes that Kenobi has improved substantially, and credits Qui-Gon’s training for much of Obi-Wan’s prowess. Several comparisons are made between this fight and Obi-Wan’s victory over Darth Maul, with Dooku reminding Kenobi that he has considerably greater style and knowledge of the Force than Maul did. Dooku’s potential advantage is attributed to his experience and master of the classic saber form. Obi-Wan’s potential advantage is attributed to his training and Dooku’s overconfidence.

On Defeat

  1. This war is only beginning, Master Plo. It will not end well for the Jedi.

  2. You truly are one of the greatest Jedi of our time.

  3. My defeat is immaterial. It is too late to stop the forces that will destroy the Jedi Order once and for all.

  3. Surrender now, Dooku. No more should suffer from this needless war.

  4. You are foolish to emerge from the shadows.

  5. I will strike you down if I must, Dooku.

  3. You better than anyone should know that the Jedi will put an end to your evil, Count.

Summary

Although these two knew and respected each other as some of the most experienced members of the Jedi Order, this is their first time fighting each other. Dooku knows Plo by his reputation as one of the Order’s greatest Jedi (and presumably his past victory over Yoda) and anticipates a close match. Dooku’s potential advantage is attributed to his increased power due to the dark side. Plo’s potential advantage is attributed to his knowledge of the Force.

Summary

Grievous is initially unimpressed by the EG-5 droid. Notably, he insults it by saying it fights no better than his MagnaGuards… suggesting that a fair interpretation would have them above. The EG-5 droid’s potential advantage is attributed to technical skill. Grievous’s potential advantage is attributed to tactics.

Intro

  1. Are you for real?

  2. Come on, droid, try me.

  3. If you think you can take me, you need a logic upgrade.

Ambient

  1. I’m gonna slice you from cranial shell to leg ambulators!

  2. An army of droids like you would be a great annoyance.

  3. The odds of you defeating me are too high to calculate!

  4. I’m used to destroying ten droids at a time, not just one.

  5. Why am I talking to a droid?

  6. I don’t intimidate easily. So far, you’re failing.

First Advantage

  1. Put those down! You’re just gonna hurt yourself.

  2. Droids can’t kill Jedi. Have your makers learned anything from the war?

  3. Who programmed you to use those sabers? A treadwell?

  4. Droids should stick to large blasters and larger numbers.

  5. Do you just string your attacks together in a random sequence?

  6. Droids are only good for heavy lifting and target practice. That should be pretty obvious right now.

Second Advantage

  1. You’re gonna need some better programming.

  2. You’ll be able to beat me when banthas fly!

  3. Junk, meet pile!

  4. Who are you supposed to be? Darth Clanker?

  5. You’ll have to do better than that, rust-bucket.

  6. A machine can swing a saber, but only a swordsman can make it sing.

On Victory

  1. Nice try, you spasmodic scrap pile.

  2. Next time, send something that knows how to handle a lightsaber.

  3. You’re not even worth recycling, droid.

First Disadvantage

  1. You’re quicker than the average droid, I’ll give you that.

  2. The Sith must be running scared if they’re training droids.

  3. I’ve destroyed thousands of droids. One more won’t be difficult.

  4. A swordsman with no knowledge of the Force is like a fish with no knowledge of water!

  5. You fight with the elegance of a binary harvester.

  6. You haven’t won yet. Unlike droids, Jedi are unpredictable.

Second Disadvantage

  1. A droid will never defeat a Jedi!

  2. You know how to fight, droid.

  3. There is strength in expendability.

  4. Programming is no substitute for Jedi instincts!

  5. I will never submit to a droid.

  6. You are strong, but not resourceful.

On Defeat

  1. Your maker is clever, droid, but the Separatists will not prevail.

  5. I’ve seen the limit of your abilities, droid.

  6. You’re programmed with the knowledge of my fighting style.

On Defeat

  1. This is a dark day for the Republic.

  3. No droid can conquer the Living Force!

Summary

As with the other Jedi, Mace Windu expresses his distaste in dueling an imitation Sith droid. The EG-5’s potential advantage is attributed to its knowledge of Sith forms, as well as knowledge of Mace’s fighting style specifically, and its speed. Mace’s potential advantage is attributed to his adaptability and connection to the Force.

  1. Destroying droids is my specialty.

  2. The Separatists never tire of building new droids. Fortunately, I never tire of slicing them apart.

  3. You’re just another droid destined for the scrap pile.

Ambient

  1. You know a great deal about the Jedi. Where did you receive your intelligence?

  2. You look menacing, I’ll grant you that.

  3. For a droid, you have surprising agility.

  4. The Separatists built a new droid. How original.

  5. A droid that thinks it’s a Sith Lord. Will wonders never cease?

  6. I’m afraid your maker’s gone to a lot of effort for nothing.

First Advantage

  1. I can destroy droids as quickly as the Separatists can manufacture them!

  2. Programming is no substitute for a lifetime of training.

  3. I hate to disappoint your maker, but you’re not going to last much longer.

  4. All the fuss over this secret weapon is hardly justified.

  5. Your lightsaber skills are less than impressive.

  6. You’d better recalculate your chances of victory.

Second Advantage

  1. Some Separatist secret weapon.

  2. You’re not such a threat, after all.

  3. Droids are for flying, not dueling.

  4. New design, same old junk.

  5. You’re about to suffer a major malfunction!

  6. Was I supposed to be afraid of you?

On Victory

  1. I’m afraid your maker has wasted his time.

  2. Once again, we see that droids are inferior.

  3. Send as many droids as you like. The result will be the same.

First Disadvantage

  1. You are well-versed in Jedi fighting forms.

  2. This is a disconcerting development.

  3. Whoever programmed you knows a great deal about the Jedi arts.

  4. Those droid makers are getting better all the time.

  5. If I am defeated by a droid, Anakin will never let me hear the end of it!

  6. I must admit these new models are an improvement.

Second Disadvantage

  1. You are good.

  2. I’ve never seen such aggression in a droid!

  3. You are nothing if not persistent.

  4. Now I’m impressed.

  5. I refuse to be defeated by a droid!

  6. You’re a clever droid, aren’t you?

On Defeat

  1. You do your maker credit, droid.

  2. An army of your kind might pose a challenge to the Jedi.

  3. I’ve never been beaten by a droid. Perhaps the Republic has something to fear.

Summary

Obi-Wan is especially droid-racist. He makes special note of the lightsaber combat knowledge that went into the droid’s programming – presumably as a result of Count Dooku’s involvement in the design process. The droid’s potential advantage is attributed to its speed and its encyclopedic knowledge of lightsaber forms. Obi-Wan’s potential advantage is attributed to his connection to the Force and deeper understanding of lightsaber combat.

TCW Lightsaber Duels Lines - Page 2 Empty EG-5 vs Plo Koon

Plo Koon

Intro

  1. You must be the new model. I’m not impressed.

  2. Come to your destruction, droid.

  3. If you wish to be destroyed, then by all means, attack.

Ambient

  1. The development of lightsaber droids is not unexpected.

  2. The Separatists are getting… creative.

  3. I have destroyed more droids than I can count.

  4. A lightsaber droid? Surely this is Dooku’s idea of a joke.

  5. Times must be desperate for the Sith to make apprentices of droids.

  6. You are both inelegant and uncivilized.

First Advantage

  1. Not even the Sith can teach a mere droid how to defeat a Jedi!

  2. Arming a droid with lightsabers does not make it a Jedi killer.

  3. I’d say you were deployed prematurely.

  4. Attempting to mimic a Jedi’s fighting method is a fool’s errand.

  5. Geonosian construction standards have fallen.

  6. I seem to have found your vulnerability… a trained Jedi.

Second Advantage

  1. Your maker is in over his head.

  2. You are about to become a failed experiment.

  3. It’s not your fault you’re a piece of junk.

  4. Your combat protocols are lacking.

  5. You fight with precision, but not skill.

  6. You’re just more assembly line junk.

On Victory

  1. The Separatists are running out of ways to win this conflict.

  2. Let your destruction be a lesson to your maker.

  3. It’s fortunate the Separatists spent the resources to develop you instead of something capable of winning the war.

First Disadvantage

  1. You might make an adequate training droid.

  2. Don’t the Jedi have enough to contend with?

  3. I think we’ve seen the limits of your programming.

  4. You’re better constructed than most droids.

  5. I’m conducting an inventory of your skills. Then, I shall destroy you.

  6. You’re not blaster fodder like most battle droids.

Second Disadvantage

  1. Insults are wasted on droids.

  2. You are quite clever for a droid.

  3. Perhaps you can match Jedi reflexes, after all.

  4. This is no simulation, droid!

  5. A Jedi will always have an advantage over a droid.

  6. I’ve never underestimated a droid before.

On Defeat

  1. This war just got a lot more difficult to win.

  2. I am but a conduit. The Living Force can never be destroyed by the machines of war.

  3. The Jedi’s enemies have just multiplied a thousandfold.

Summary

Plo Koon repeatedly makes note of the droid’s inherent shortcomings compared to both Jedi and Sith. The EG-5’s potential advantage is attributed to its wide array of talents and its precision. Plo’s potential advantage is attributed to his tactics and knowledge of the Force.
