What if: allocate stats for yourself Empty What if: allocate stats for yourself

on November 22nd 2019, 4:17 pm
You have 120 points and you get to choose your stats (this is not about what you actually are).

A point cost for every IQ point above 100, a point regained for every one below 100.

-30 points = you could show up unironically on "ugly person" google searches
-10 points = you look on par with Jay Leno
0 points = you look average
20 points = you look on par with a young Luke Skywalker
50 points = you look on par with a young Brad Pitt / Natalie Portman

-10 points = you're pretty bad at sports to the point where you'd be embarrassed in PE
0 points = you're average at sports
10 points = you're athletic enough to play a club sport at your college
30 points = you are a contender to get a scholarship at an average D1 school in a sport
50 points = you could make an NFL practice squad
70 points = you could start in the NFL for a few years
100 points = you could be an NFL pro bowler

-30 points = you're moderately predisposed to clinical depression
-10 points = you're predisposed to be slightly grouchy
0 points = you're predisposed to average happiness
10 points = you're fairly cheerful by nature
30 points = by nature, people always remark on how happy you always are and ask how
50 points = you are happy to the point where you can't remember the last time you were in a bad mood
80 points = your average day would be most people's best day ever
100 points = you're essentially enlightened

-30 points = you're naturally a weirdo that people actively avoid
-10 points = you're naturally a little shy and awkward
0 points = you're naturally socially normal
10 points = you're naturally a "popular kid" at school
30 points = you're naturally the center of most social groups and can smoothly talk your way at basically any social gathering
50 points = you have Obama-tier charisma and could be a Don Jon if you wanted to

-30 points = you're naturally lazy to the point where you skip every class in college due to involuntary laziness
-10 points = you're known to be naturally kind of lazy
0 points = you are predisposed to average work ethic
10 points = you are known to be naturally decently hard working
30 points = you could work an 80 hour a week job and not burn out
50 points = you have Elon Musk-tier work ethic

-30 points = you're a borderline psychopath
-10 points = you're naturally kinda a prick
0 points = you're naturally a morally normal person
10 points = you're naturally fairly friendly
30 points = you're naturally known as a very caring and compassionate person

-30 points = you were born with type I diabetes
-10 points = you were born with moderate asthma
0 points = you naturally have average health
10 points = you have a pretty strong immune system
30 points = for some reason you almost never get sick (but your immune system still adapts fine)

-30 points = your parents were homeless
-10 points = your parents were working class
0 points = your parents were middle class
10 points = your parents were upper middle class
30 points = your parents were low-digit millionaires
50 points = your parents were double-digit millionaires
100 points = your parents were billionaires

-30 points = your parents were abusive alcoholics
-10 points = you don't talk to any of your family as an adult anymore
0 points = you have an average relationship with your family
30 points = you have an extremely loving and constructive relationship with your family

-30 points = you were born in Afghanistan

0 points = you were born in a country of your choice

Bonus points:

-30 points = you could show up unironically on "ugly person" google searches - pretty sure that I'm already on here.
10 points = you're athletic enough to play a club sport at your college - I'm a academic person, not a sporty person. I'm a good swimmer, I'm fast and I'm agile. That's it, and I'm comfortable with that.
50 points = you are happy to the point where you can't remember the last time you were in a bad mood - can't remember a stage like this so sure, I'll go for this one.
-10 points = you're naturally a little shy and awkward - I'm an introvert and I'm happy with that.
30 points = you could work an 80 hour a week job and not burn out - This. Also, Musk misses deadlines all of the time so probably not the peak of productivity.
30 points = you're naturally known as a very caring and compassionate person
10 points = you have a pretty strong immune system
0 points = your parents were middle class - I wouldn't want rich parents. They'd change and so would I. I learned so many things coming from a working class background, and even with the downsides I wouldn't trade it for anything. Middle class is the only change I'd make as I know it wouldn't change me as a person.
30 points = you have an extremely loving and constructive relationship with your family
0 points = you were born in a country of your choice
30 points = you can sing and play an instrument both in the top 1% of the population
30 points = you have an eidetic memory

There, exactly 180.

Honestly, happiness, charisma that grants me admiration and respect, and a loving family have always been what I've most desired. Above average work ethic and athleticism are fine for me, I've always desired both traits (Got 1, not the other) but not to the same extent as anything mentioned prior, and not in excess, just enough to get by. Other stuff like how rich my family are, my IQ and not living in a complete mudhole matters - but not to the same extent, I'll happily take average wealth and IQ. Unless I'm at risk of dying on the spot or am permanently crippled health doesn't matter to me, and looks are honestly so shallow a trait they're not even worth acknowledging, besides for attracting people (Which I can do with charisma and confidence anyway).

The two terms are synonymous, and contrary to what you're implying it is a legitimate word, albeit an informal one.

Alright, let's try this. Points left 120.

0 points = you look average

Points left 120.

0 points = you're average at sports

Points left 120.

80 points = your average day would be most people's best day ever

Points left 40.

-10 points = you're naturally a little shy and awkward

Points left 50.

10 points = you are known to be naturally decently hard working

Points left 40.

30 points = you're naturally known as a very caring and compassionate person

Points left 10.

0 points = you naturally have average health

Points left 10.

-10 points = your parents were working class

Points left 20.

0 points = you have an average relationship with your family

Points left 20.

0 points = you were born in a country of your choice

Points left 20. These points go into IQ, so I'm left with an IQ of 120.

-Above average work ethic, and an IQ of 120 should allow me to get through school and achieve a decent job.

-Insane happiness and compassion would make life a good experience for me and those around me.

-I've always been a little awkward, so I'm super-cool with being somewhat socially inept - I can forgo being socially skilled in order to receive other benefits i.e. happiness and compassion.

-I'm fine with making my parents working class - I wouldn't be spoiled and I'd probably learn some crucial life experience from it, plus despite not having rich parents I'd be happy, so it doesn't really matter.

-Average athleticism, appearance, and health, and relationship with my family don't worry me - I'm totally cool with all of that, so long as I'm happy.

-Being born in a country of choice allows me to choose a place with optimal living conditions e.g. no high crime rates, etc.

Overall, life under these stats should be highly enjoyable for me and others which imo is all that really matters.
